This thread will contain various flags, maps, and other graphics designed to add context and feeling to various parts of Timeline 31, which can be found in this thread. It will be updated intermittently. Interesting. I assume from the widespread use of Spanish on the notes there's going to be a very strong Latin American/Mexican presence in the republic, probably more than OTL. Quite like the idea of the notes displaying scenery rather than people.

The cover of a modern copy of New Common Sense, 2018 Abraham Lincoln, the 16th and last president of the United States of America Sad to see Lincoln not be able to keep the Union intact, happy that at least he died of old age instead of the bullet.

Given where he died, in Canada I wonder if his ideas made him too unpopular in the assorted successor states of the US? I can see him not going to either the CSA or Texas and if Freedonia stayed basically a military/police state he wouldn't be welcome there but then given they elected for independence possibly he didn't fancy any of the western states?

I wonder and that is what mobiyuz only can answer, did he die a poor broken man in Canada ore did he have a life after he was forced to move to Canada.

I suspect the disaster of his failure to keep the union together, especially with it splitting into so many states and the core area seeing a military coup would have hurt him greatly. He might have gained some satisfaction if towards the end of the century his ideas as suggested in the "New Common Sense" gain support and possibly are put into play somewhere but he would probably consider his life a failure because of the fracturing of the US.

A wikipedia-style infobox on the Freedom War. The Californian flag as altered and adopted in 1889, in use until 1910

An infobox for the North American Front of World War I. This is great, so much information in a single infobox, and also nicely done at that mobiyuz.

mobiyuz , Good to see this active again and that's a hell of a war for N America. A lot of death and destruction.
Obviously both Freedonia/Mexico and guessing Germany/Austria in Europe also lose and unfortunately the Soviets still gain power in Russia. Sounds pretty chaotic in eastern N America even after the war with the collapse of Freedonia and civil war in the Confederacy as well as Mexico.
I thought New York was part of Freedonia or is the war and its separation from it cause and effect one way or another? Sounds like its going to be messy for quite a while. Suspect that the empire won't survive in Mexico and hopefully a less intolerant state or states will emerge in the south. Would I be right in assuming that its California that occupies N Mexico? Otherwise, it could only really be Texas.
