I know they’ve been mentioned here already, but I’m curious as to how a KMT China or White Russia would look in practice—especially compared to their Red OTL counterparts. Well KMT China would be a big version of Taiwan, ruled by father and then son before becoming democratic.
Possibly, possibly not. As a small state dependent on both US support and the loyalty of its population Taiwan has managed to shift to a democracy. If the KMT still controlled all China then they might feel less pressure for political reform or at least be more willing to suppress it. Possibly citing the need for national unity in the face of the threats posed by USSR/Russia, the US and possibly even India.

Hmm. In that case, I take it that similar liberal-democratic reforms took ahold of South Korea due to early dependence on US support as well? Also, how might a Kuomintang China’s economy look, especially compared to its PRC counterpart? Because I’m wondering if TTL’s America might still be willing to open up trade with it in exchange for enshrined constitutional rights and democratic checks and balances like IOTL (which didn’t seem to work out in our case, mind you).

I'm not saying a KMT China wouldn't become a democracy but I'm thinking its far from certain. Taiwan was dependent on US support and the need to keep its population content because its was a small state under threat from mainland China. If their in charge of the entire country the regime and its leaders could well be less inclined to decide they need to allow political reform. Plus I it it was a generation or so in both S Korea and Taiwan before things changed, in part because the old guard was passing away. For instance with the former you had a repressive government dominant until ~1987, see South_Korea's rocky path to democracy for some details. Similarly for Taiwan it wasn't until 1987 that martial law was ended, see one party rule in Taiwan.
As such it will take some time either way and I suspect it will be harder to persuade a KMT unified China to allow democracy.

Mm’kay. As much as I’d like to converse about a TL featuring Kuomintang China further, this probably isn’t the place to prolong the dialogue. Perhaps I’ll create a separate thread for it to keep the conversation going, should that work. Going back to frivolous ASB ideas for the time being, though, ‘Libertarian Axis Powers Upon Formation’.

What if Pizza Hawaii was the only pizza people could eat. Assuming no antitrust legislation happens to once again facilitate competition, then Pizza Hawaii probably celebrates. Because now they have an uncontested monopoly on the pizza market that will bring in hordes and hordes of new customers who will keep buying from them if they still want their pizza. Further, I also assume that homemade and store-bought frozen pizzas are off the table as well?

Well, in the short term, I see other pizza-market members doing their damnedest to discover the secret to how Pizza Hawaii’s products remain decent. Eventually, assuming that their pizza still sucks no matter what they try, they’ll probably just give up on that front. Those who don’t go out of business and just plain call it a day will probably seek to form a merger with Pizza Hawaii, if it means that former company leadership have a chance of getting in on that monopolist’s dough (both money and the literal kind).

Zyobot , i am takling about a pizza, like this one below. ...Oh. Whoops. I mistook your scenario for this restaurant called Pizza Hawaii and Deli suddenly gaining a monopoly on the pizza market. Which sounds like a crazy premise, given how small the brand seems to be. My bad. Since you're referring to Hawaiian pizza being the only good kind left thanks to ASB shenanigans, however, I'm guessing that the pizza becomes bad if people try to peel off the extra toppings so that it becomes, say, just plain cheese pizza?

Well if you take awy the pineapple then it becomes a ordinary pizza and under the ASB rule, not good to eat. Next What if is: What If everything we think can be heard by those around you.

Maybe a version featuring alien instruments and remastering could be played in Jabba’s Palace or something? Or, Luke & Friends could enter a bar where that sort of music is playing at some point?
