The Christian Georgians who were massacred by these guys in a religious war of persecution in the 14th Century say, "hi".
The KKK were Unreconstructed Confederates. The Big Lie of The Lost Cause was their regional state religion. Their "ideology" was no different from any other psychotic rejection of objective reality. They might have been protestants or Catholics or atheists, but what united them all as criminals and sociopaths was their belief in RACISM. It was their ideology and their totalitarian "religion" in that they, as an article of faith, thought that white skins were superior to black and brown skins. Understand clearly, it was an article of faith, not a scientific fact that they thought whites were superior to darker shade of skin human beings. Even WORSE, they graded whites in descending ranking according to shade of skin color. Guess how Italians, Spaniards, Greeks, Rumanians, Mexicans, Berbers and Jews fared on this scale?
This is what I mean by "religion".

When the "ideology" is based on faith and not on observation and repeatable results, that ideology is a "fantasy". Hence any form of Communism and Fascism and Islam and Christianity, and Buddhism, and any other "ism" including CAPITALISM when practiced wrong, that has totalitarian thought rigidity and the believer's refusal to tolerate the truth, and uses "faith" to promote ideas of persecution and bigotry as totalitarian way of life tenets of faith, is a "superstition" and that is a rather good definition for "religion".
