The game starts at 395 A.D. after the two Roman empires are permanently divided The goal of this game is to having the longest reign when all of your emperors are combined without being the last Roman Emperor and to hold the largest barbarian kingdom at the end. Here are the rules: The chance of an emperor dying is 5%, the maximum length of an emperor`s reign is twenty five years and every time an emperor dies this order will be followed: Vandals: Player: Army Size: 25,000 (entirely at the Rhine river) Maximum Army Size: 60,000 Lombards: Player: Army Size: 10,000 (entirely in Germany and migrating towards Italy) Maximum Army Size: 50,000 Gepids: Player: Army Size: 20,000 (entirely at the Rhine river) Maximum Army Size: 55,000 Saxons: Player: Army Size: 15,000 (entirely in Denmark) Maximum Army Size: 60,000 Burgundians: Player: Army Size: 20,000 (entirely at the Rhine river) Maximum Army Size: 50,000 Visigoths: Player: Army Size: 40,000 (entirely at Danube river) Maximum Army Size: 60,000 Franks: Player: lordroel Army Size: 30,000 (entirely at the Rhine river) Maximum Army Size: 80,000Sassanid Empire: Player: Army Size: 60,000 (20,000 bordering South Anatolia, 20,000 bordering Norther Anatolia and 20,000 bordering the Caucus mountains) Maximum Army Size: 100,000Eastern Roman Empire: Player: stevep Army Size: 100,000 (40,000 along the border with the Sassanids, 20,000 at the Danube, 20,000 in land granted to the Visigoths and 20,000 along the border with WRE at Dalmatia) Maximum Army Size: 150,000Western Roman Empire: Player: Jon698 Army Size: 75,000 (8,000 in Britain, 15,000 along the Rhine river, 9,000 in Italy, 8,000 along border at Dalmatia, 15,000 in Northern France, 5,000 in Africa and 15,000 in Spain.) Maximum Army Size: 125,000 Battles will be a 50/50 chance with the attacker being one-five and the defender being six-ten and for each 10,000 additional men you have over your enemey you will gain one more die side, if the battle is between an army of less than a thousand men against 10,000 or over the army with 10,000 will automatically win. After the battle is over a 100 sided die will be rolled to see what percent of the losing army died. It will be rolled a second time to see what percent of the losing army becomes prisoners of war. It will take one day in real life for your army to reach the country you are at war with if you do not border it. The Romans and Sassassians are only allowed to increase their armies by 2,000 men per year while the barbarians are allowed to increase their armies by 4,000 men per year. Revolts are only applicable for settled barbarians, Romans and Persians. If a province has less than 5,000 men in it (2,000 for barbarians) the chance of a revolt increases from 1% to 10% and if the empire is collapsing to 20%. If a non-Western Roman Emperor is overthrow by a revolt he will continue playing as the same nation, but will have his army cut by fifty percent. Special Bonuses: Western Roman Empire: Can give away portions of their empire for a ten year truce. Vandals: If they sack Rome they will gain two attack in battle fought in Italy. Lombards: If they conquer Northern Italy they will gain a permanent base of two defense, regardless of army size difference in all of Italy. Gepids: Can join a thirty year alliance with the Eastern Roman Empire if the Eastern Emperor grants them Dalmatia and other land near the Danube river. Saxons: Are the only barbarians allowed to attack the British islands for the first 10 years. Burgundians: Have a permanent alliance with the Franks unless the Burgundians refused a call to war. Visigoths: At the start of the game they are allies with the Roman Empires and if attacked, the Eastern Roman Empire will defend them. Franks: Gains a 6-4 advantage in battles if they convert to Christianity and gain a permanent base of two defense, regardless of army size difference, if they conquer all of modern France. Sassanid Empire: Has a starting 6-4 advantage in battles in deserts. Eastern Roman Empire: Constantinople grants the Eastern Romans a permanent defense base of three, regardless of army size difference, and decreases the minimum soldiers needed to fight to 500.

Most noticeably is it possibly to get a map with the actual provinces delinerated please and also their terrain/effects. [Possibly only for desert regions if the only terrain affected battle mode is for the Sassanids. Otherwise: a) What's the difference between settled and non-settled barbarians? b) If the WRE makes an offer of land for a truce does the barbarian have to accept? c) For Vandals I presume that should be battle plural, i.e. any battle in Italy after they sack Rome? And that this means for equal sized armies they have a 7:3 advantage on the battle rolls? d) If two powers are allied - like the Visigoths and ERE at the start can a power back-stab an ally at any time or any restrictions? e) With the Franks is the bonus of a 6-4 basic roll only if they were fighting pagans or anyone? As I understand it only them and the Saxons were pagans when they initially invaded parts of the empire but the other Germanic invaders were predominantly Arians which were considered heretics by Catholics and Orthodox Christians. [Although the latter split was still some way off]. f) When you say a permanent defence base does that mean for equal opposing forces instead of it being 5;5 it would be say 8:2 for the ERE anywhere in that empire? Also does that include areas outside the original ERE that the latter gains control over or just its starting provinces? g) Are there any particular units types or is it just that all Sassanid units are considered camel horsemen? h) Just to clarify what is the end point of the game? When everybody else concedes, or when there's only one of the three empires left standing? i) Also are you saying powers can only attack somewhere when one of the three emperors dies? [That seems to be what's suggested by the 1st line of the rules but it sounds a bit strange to me?] j) Are we playing on this site or by other means? [As you might guess from the questions I'm a fairly experienced gamer but I'm not particularly up to date on tech unfortunately. Anything more complex than email say and I would have to get a primer. However does sound an interesting idea.] Thanks in advance for any info provided.

Don`t worry the picture I put is just a temporally map to be used to show you where you would be starting, I have a much better map ready for when we actually start the game. a. At the start all of the barbarians are unsettled as they are seeking to migrate to land in the WRE so after they take a large enough amount of land (about 2/3 of a region) they will become settled. b. Barbarians will not be forced to accept. c. I changed the wording of the special bonuses and removed some. d. I decided to add that if you stab your ally in the back e. I decided to take away some of the special bonuses f. I didn`t realize that mistake when I was making this as I was tired, but I just changed it so that it is the lowest point they can reach in battle instead g. No they are no unit types and I when I was the rules I was tired (I`m surprised I didn`t make even more mistakes) h. The game will end if everybody stops playing, but if we reach the end of the WRE first then that is the end i. No you can attack at any time also can you clarify by what you mean by [That seems to be what's suggested by the 1st line of the rules but it sounds a bit strange to me?] and the order only happens when the WRE emperor dies j. Only on this site I hope I have answered all of your questions and would you like to play the game?

Jon Definitely interested. What I meant was you say "and every time an emperor dies this order will be followed", then listed the order of nations in the game. It sounded like this was the sequence in which nations would move/attack whatever but that suggested it would only occur any time one of the three emperors died which would make it somewhat erratic when orders were processed. Probably have misunderstood but if you see what I'm asking? Steve

Steve So who do you want to play as Willing to have a go as anyone. See who else your can recruit.
