Very true if you can get enough people together. Haven't played an actual strategy board game for probably a decade or more unfortunately.

I always plan to play one of the massive Axis & Allies boards games, but that means I have to get people to play with me first.

I used to be a big fan of the old Third Reich and Advanced Third Reich board games but after leaving Uni never got more than three people for a game of that. Some other good games but again normally only with one opponent. Haven't even done that for probably a decade and the big table I used to use is how buried under a mass of old paperwork - which I really need to clear up/junk.
That is one advantage of computer games as you can generally plan against the AI, even if with most games its pretty damned weak once your reasonably confident at the game.
