Silo | A Great New, Deep, and Terrifying World
I've read the books this is based on and a very grim but all too possible scenario.

World War Three | World in Conflict
Well that was a total farce on so many levels. It was recognised that W Berlin couldn't be defended in a full scale war so there was no intent to try and reinforce it or give air support. Which wouldn't be practical anyway given simultaneous enemy attacks into central Europe. Then there's the reference to the Soviets back-stabbing their 'Arab' friends in the ME. The Iranians were neither Arab nor friends.
The entire idea of the sort of attacks by substantial conventional Soviet forces on the continental US is tosh. They simply wouldn't have the range. let along the ability to support the Seattle landings with a 2nd airborne drop. Then there's the idea that Communist China would join their hatred enemy, i.e. the USSR, against the west. Let alone the 1989 PLAN being able to transport significant forces across the Pacific!! Their more likely to sit it out unless and until there's a clear winner or if they do join either side its more likely to be the west. - I think basically the idea is to given tension and a role in the US to attract US players to whatever game is being sold.

World War Three | World in Conflict The plot is non-sensical for sure but it does bring back a lot of memories. I didn't get to play this game until 2015 when I was a third-year college student. I admit, I wanted to get the collector's edition especially the one with the Berlin Wall piece. Meanwhile the Polish collector's edition either came as a U.S. pack or a Soviet pack with lots of goodies! Yes, it's basically Red Dawn meets Ground Control. It was mentioned they U.S. and the Soviets are fighting a three-way battle in Iran. The Soviets managing to sneak an invasion force into New York and Seattle was laughable too. The Pacific Fleet was simply gone or non-existent. I'd like to think the POD dates back further where Gorbachev does not take power, replaced by a hardliner like Nikolai Ogarkov. Or a fictional hardliner that manages to repair damaged relations with the People's Republic of China. Or perhaps a pro-Soviet coup occurred in China that removed Deng Xiaoping from power. Heck, it was even laughable how the PLA-N sailed across the Pacific, passed the First, Second, and Third Island Chains all because "there was not much left of the Pacific Fleet left" and the USS Missouri being sunk by a Soviet sub off the coast of Vancouver Island. The PLA-N in 1989 was a brown-water navy with limited green-water ops. The ships and aircraft located in the naval base at Subic Bay, Cubi Point, Wallace Air Station, Clark AB, and Camp John Hay in the Philippines, Kadena AB in Okinawa, and the naval base in Agana, Guam which has one CVBG along with submarines and B-52s in Andersen AFB would have annihilated the PLA-N East Sea Fleet. It's laughable how the PLA-N in 1989 could conduct an invasion of Taiwan and engage in multiple fronts in Korea and the Himalayas. Korea I can understand, but India is where they will be bogged down because the Indian Army are masters in high-altitude warfare. The front in the Himalayas would be a stalemate in an unforgiving environment. As for Taiwan, the ROC Armed Forces could at least repel a Chinese invasion up until the late 1990s. All the ROC had to do was wait for the PLA to land in the beaches and then they would make it as bloody as the Pacific War island-hopping campaign was. Even the ROC Navy was better than the PLA-N at this period.
