Yeah, I figured so. Anyways, here's some more commentary from The Templin Institute. World Governments Are Boring | IncomingI hope this helps, Zyobot

Good video. Very accurate as well. The likelihood of an unified Earth government being viable increases if/when humanity gets into space and especially when we establish contact with other intelligence's simply because there's something to unite again. However its far from certain this would occur and even then you could see multiple human states inside the Sol system and beyond as their likely to have different interests.
Its also frustrating that most such world governments are basically idealised US colones but I think that simply because so much in terms of western films are made in the US and/or for the US market so its unlikely to change, at least in the western world in the near future. You could see other types of governments, based possibly around India or China or less likely an EU identity if that survived, Russia or possibly an Islamic centred Earth as such regions develop the resources and desire to present such scenarios. There could well be such in say China or Russia already but their simply not well [or at all ] known in the west.
In SF in general there is often more variety although its still largely dominated in the English speaking sphere by the US and more often a right wing hypo-capitalistic one but its a lot easier to get a book published with a different background than a film or game franchise.

I thought I'd share another Star Wars-themed video, this time one about an infamous, blue-skinned military mastermind who started in Legends and made his way into Canon. Grand Admiral Thrawn | Star Wars Legends | DossierDid find this about his Legends version:

Here's one from a setting that I don't think has been explored much in this thread.
The Koprulu Sector | StarCraft | Atlas

Star Union | Age of Wonders: Planetfall
Across hundreds of worlds, the desolate remains of the once great Star Union remain, begging for their technological marvels to be re-discovered.

Cool video, lordroel. I can't say I've heard of this universe before first watching it, but now I have a new sci-to setting to check out thanks to that.

Interesting idea but it doesn't say much about how they organise attempts to rebuild the union. Its one thing to defeat an enemy but how loosely or not do they define enemy? Are they some sort of all conquering horde that decides everybody who doesn't immediately accept a place in the restored union should be crushed or more liberal and to seriously negotiate with nations that are willing to co-exist but not willing to come under Vanguard control?

That is what the player decides.

Ah good. I was wondering whether that would be an option or whether too much would be tied to set behaviour.
