According to Polygon, it appears that the grim darkness of the far future isn't content to hold RPGs or tabletop wargames in its grasp--as evinced by a Games Workshop-licensed animated series to be known as Angels of Death, which follows a group of Blood Angel Space Marines living in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Apparently, the people behind the Guardsman fan film and the Helsreach series are creating this new, and quite interesting-looking installment to be released at some point in 2019.
I'm willing to speculate that they looked to Star Wars's 2008 TCW series for inspiration, but that's just a guess. As far as I can tell, Games Workshop & Co. seem to be the kind of people who'd be inclined to do that.
