Asking for advice. Me and a mate generally get together for a computer gaming session most Saturday evenings at my place. Preference is for a turn bases strategy game. Used to play an old one, Master of Orion 2 - or MOO2 as we called it until it was no longer compatible with newer OS. More recently we're played assorted games in the Total War stable, the original RTW, METW2 and a middle earth based spin off of the latter. Problem with those is that since they were initially designed for one player only, at least for the campaign version, which as strategy gamers is what we want you end up with player developed adaptations which have the problem that you can't play defensive battles either again each other or even AI opponents. Very frustrating when you cann't make any decisions or pit yourself against the AI when you know you have a decent chance of winning.
Have two machines so can play on my LAN or an hotseat game. Although with the latter, as in MOO2 that limited the flexibility of games played between the two of us. Like a good bit of development of technology, cultural developments, research etc as well a the actual economic and military management. Using an old OS, v7 but could upgrade if needed.
Anyone have any ideas/recommendations on a good game that might be useful for us please?
Thanks
Steve

Should be able to do so as its a Paradox game similar to AOD. Have heard mixed reviews but will have a look. Thanks.

Thanks, will have a look at that as well. Never got into the MOO3 as the 3D map attempt made it cumbersome doing thing - at least that's the main thing I remember but can definitely have a look.
