For All Mankind (AH Tv series at Apple TV)
For All Mankind is an American science fiction web television series created and written by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi and produced for Apple TV+. The series will premiere in Fall 2019. The series will dramatize "what would have happened if the global space race had never ended" after the USSR (in this fictional alternative history) succeeds in the first manned Moon landing.

That looks pretty cool, lordroel. I presume that since the Space Race doesn't end ITTL, NASA gets a far larger share of the federal budget than is true IOTL . Unfortunately, however, Wikipedia doesn't seem to have much in the way of additional information aside from cast, crew and production stats . Part of me wonders how a fandom crossover between this upcoming 'For All Mankind' TV series and Mark Watney would play out as well, but that's a more tangential matter.

Looks interesting and I suspect it would have prompted a continuation of the space race and probably also cold war tensions, both of which could have some nasty results. Both in terms of more fighting around the world and in some nasty disasters in space as both sides push harder for success. Hopefully also some further advances in knowledge and technology which have some beneficial effects.

I wonder how the 21st Century of the For All Mankind universe will turn out, especially in those Cold War-emphasized realms of STEM advancements and geopolitics between the two superpowers. Almost certainly, NASA will boast a far larger share of the federal budget than is true IOTL. At least, that's assuming that the nukes don't fly beforehand.

I guess something like 2001 space odyssey, but then without the aliens.

I actually think it was explicitly said that it'd take place in that time frame, yes. However, I'm still very skeptical of them reaching 2001: A Space Odyssey-level technological progress within those years.

Well I guess they might travel by early 1980s to Mars, but we have to see the serie to know for sure.

Well I guess they might travel by early 1980s to Mars, but we have to see the serie to know for sure. That also depends on how long the series lasts. For now, it's set to cover the alternate Space Race of the 1960s and '70s, and will likely prioritize that time period over the '80s and beyond. I'm nonetheless hoping they get to covering that, however. Maybe even explore the world of a different 21st Century.
