Wow, so Disney, the company who like to make sequels after sequels, reboots and spin-off of everything is doing that, they really must have been surprised that Solo would flop.

Wow, so Disney, the company who like to make sequels after sequels, reboots and spin-off of everything is doing that, they really must have been surprised that Solo would flop. The Thing is that Star Wars is currently in a downward spiral when it comes to sale numbers and if they had released another spin-off or two that bombed (which is very likely) the chance of Episode IX failing become bigger and bigger because it Will get a reputation of bad quality. And if Star Wars get a reputation for bad quality (deserved or not) then it won't how good Episode IX is or how much money is spent on advertising, People just Won't buy tickets or Merchandise. So Disney is currently doing damage control, not enough given that they still haven't told Lucasfilm to stop calling People racist bigots on Twitter, and trying to continue making a profit.

Not surprising, really. The Boba Fett movie would have been just as bad as Solo, if not worse.
Though, it is a bit of a shame we won't be getting another Obi-Wan movie with Ewan McGregor. He was one of the few good things about the prequels: let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here!

The article is right in that it isn't Disney that is ruining Star Wars, it is Lucasfilm head Kennedy who is. The head of Disney has tried to get Kennedy fired but at this point nobody wants her job and half the employees are Kennedy loyalists instead Star Wars fans. So it won't be until Episode IX flops that Disney Will step in to do the house cleaning necaserry to fix Star Wars. The article itself is just the typical SJW apoligism that it isn't them that are ruining something, it is white men/ Trump/white men/Gamergate/the patriacy/the fans/white men. Did I mention that white men are responsible for everything bad in the world?

Well, I hope they can fit it in in such a way that it feels like it's supposed to be there. I wouldn't want to see it just bolted on for the sake of it.

Episode IX Cast Announced LUCASFILM 27 JULY, 2018
STAR WARS: EPISODE IX CAST ANNOUNCED RETURNING AND NEW CAST MEMBERS WILL JOIN TOGETHER FOR THE FINAL INSTALLMENT OF THE SKYWALKER SAGA. Star Wars: Episode IX will begin filming at London’s Pinewood Studios on August 1, 2018. J.J. Abrams returns to direct the final installment of the Skywalker saga. Abrams co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Terrio.
Returning cast members include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd. Joining the cast of Episode IX are Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, and Keri Russell, who will be joined by veteran Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.
The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” says Abrams. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
Composer John Williams, who has scored every chapter in the Star Wars saga since 1977’s A New Hope, will return to a galaxy far, far away with Episode IX.
Star Wars: Episode IX will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Michelle Rejwan, and executive produced by Callum Greene and Jason McGatlin. The crew includes Dan Mindel (Director of Photography), Rick Carter and Kevin Jenkins (Co-Production Designers), Michael Kaplan (Costume Designer), Neal Scanlan (Creature and Droid FX), Maryann Brandon and Stefan Grube (Editors), Roger Guyett (VFX Supervisor), Tommy Gormley (1st AD), and Victoria Mahoney (2nd Unit Director).
Release is scheduled for December 2019.
