I would say you don't need to bother, Love Live is just much better at being a character-driven idol comedy.

Universe 16 is doomed. It has reached the breaking point. Now, we know what Vegetto meant when he said to his daughter (the horror, the horror) "I may have to kill you someday". Ding dong, that day has probably come. Bra is dead.

Bra SSJ2 is Broly-lite. She is a vicious, bersek, blood-thirsty, out-of-control whacko. In the present chapter, she blew a planet and billions of livings and an entire planetary system - supernova included ! - , just "to win" against a trio of Bojack-wannabee. Goten is dead by her fault, but noone cares, not even her (poor Goten, really !).

Vegetto "you unlocked SSJ2, went bersek, destroyed everything. Such was you power, not even Mystic Gohan could have stopped you."

Bra answer "Cool, now I'm stronger than Gohan ! I did it at least"

Vegetto (facepalm) "Shut up ! This mean, I'm the one and only in that freakkin' universe 16 able to stop you ! And if you get stronger than me someday, you idiot, I will have to kill you !"

20 years later in the tournament going down the drain, she has succumbed to that worm of Babidi (the ultimate shame !) and methodically slaughtered the Gohans, the Piccolos, and everybody willing to pick a fight against her.

Vegetto has been exiled by the same Babidi U11 to a remote, backward place. Buu U4 is wrecking teleportation just to have fun but, if he allows Vegetto to go back to the (devastated) tournament arena and see what his daughter did, well...

Bra is dead.

And Vegetto, that other ticking bomb, will probably be the next to blow a fuse.

Basically, U16 is screwed, FUBAR, wrecked for good. So much for a near carbon-copy of our well-known, beloved DBZ universe, number 18 !  Vegetto has definitively screwed U16 by his very existence, and made matter worse by having a daughter. Dear Kami... Dear God. Then again - a guy having VEGETA AND GOKU permanently cohabiting in his head, can only go crazy in the long term.

Vegeta barely tolerated Goku only by living away from him most of the time. Bad luck: inside Vegetto head and body, Vegeta personality has to endure Goku own irritating personality permanently, and for eternity. Nothing good can come of this over the long term. Nothing.

It would be like Harry Potter and Voldemort fathering a son together, and the poor guy having the two personalities inside his head, 50/50. Imagine, the carnage and mayhem !

And all the others universe are in the same boat, because the tournament organizers (Nameks, Vargas, Kaioshins) are all dead, without exceptions.

HELL, *NO*. Not this time !

Nobody knows in which universe (there are an infinity of them !) the tournament Dragon Balls are, except for two characters

- that malicious, huge SOB of Buu U4

- Xsi / XXI / whatever, the story McGuffin. Even Buu U4 was scared to death by Xsi, he has no clue who is that one (we don't know either).

It is certainly going in new directions compared to previous Love Lives. Can you imagine? The school council president recruited and the club re-established by episode three? Honkers and Chika wish they were that effiecent.
