Sticking to current Canon, what effects on the Original Trilogy films will there be if Alderaan is not destroyed (Death Star malfunctions or Tarkin dies etc)

But was not Alderaan the main sponsor of anti-Imperial resistance if i am not wrong, if the planet is not destroyed, then the resistance is in a much stronger position.

If Alderaan survives, Bail Organa (Leia's adoptive father) is not killed so he might eventually challenge Mon Mothma (Alderaan is a more important world than hers).

Why would he challenge Mon Mothma for leadership of the Resistance. I’d like to echo that same question. Did Mothma and Organa have diverging viewpoints on how the Alliance should be run?

In a timeline where Alderaan survives, Bail Organa might be more acceptable as Chancellor of the New Republic. Especially to those planets that can't stomach a woman.

Wait what, can't stomach a woman, there where a lot of female leaders on many words if you look at the movies and cartoon, so that is not a issue. Also she already the Chancellor and Commander-in-Chief of the Rebel Alliance before Bail Organa death on Alderaan and it seems they where close friends, thus i do not see a problem in a rivalry between them.

I...don’t see indication that sort of sexism exists in Star Wars. Well, maybe aside from Grand Moff Tarkin despising strong, independent women serving in the military in Legends, not necessarily in Canon (?). Even then, I imagine that the Rebels would oppose such prejudice.

I agree, we have seen a lot of female leaders both in the cartoon and in the movies, also i doubt Alderaan would survive long as it was most likely to be destroyed by orders of the Emperor one way ore another as a example to the might of the Empire and those who resistance it.

To be honest, I doubt it would have changed very much. The Rebel Alliance might have more resources if Alderaan still existed; however, it's only one planet, and it's nowhere near the might of the Galactic Empire (with or without their Death Star), so it wouldn't swing the balance of the war. The Rebel Alliance would still be heavily outgunned, so they'd still be hiding out on backwaters, such as Hoth and Tatooine.
Perhaps Bail Organa does become leader instead of Mon Mothma, but that's essentially it.

Maybe that would have its share of ripple effects on how the Galactic Civil War unfolds.

Are we not forgetting a thing, she was already in charge as you clearly can see watching Rouge One, i guess he would support here as he was already doing for a long time.

Though, I wonder if Organa’s input—even if he takes more of an advisory role relative to her—would have some influence on how she leads the Alliance.

I think he already was here adviser, not going to change if his world and he are not killed.
