Didn't realise that the term was so ancient. I wonder if the importance of the number 7 might relate to there being 7 'planets' [including the moon] in the ancient heavens? As that would be a clear measure for any ancient culture with astronomical knowledge.

Interesting but he sounds like an idiot, who never realised that war, let alone governing means a lot more than winning battles, or even fighting them. Definitely not an option if I was ever picking a list of great commanders.

Ah sorry, King Pyrrhus. Sorry, thought that would have been obvious but possibly your been too busy to watch the video yet. He seems to have had the attention span of a gnat. This is proving hard, lets go and seek a war everywhere else. Even after stalling in S Italy and deserting it he successfully united virtually all of Sicily and seems to have been briefly popular there then threw it all away. Then returns to Epirus, invades Macedonia and captures most of it but then switches to attack Sparta - with some success as that state was way past its prime - but then diverts to attack Argos and is defeated in a chaotic mess by the Argos and Macedonians.
