Assuming the Internet comes back with them it's possible Have the Black Community resist going to the Korean War Okay why does this thread that is about Hollywood turn into a black community rising up thread. Assuming the 2019 people of Hollywood and Productions go back in time as well. That most of them are decent human beings that want to prevent the worst mistakes Amerika has done from 1950 to today. Jumpstarting the Civil Rights Movement is the right thing to do. Minorities refusing to go to Korea forces the government to placate said minorities. More Whites are sent to die in Korea as long as Minorities refuse Conscription. |

Why fight when they know that they would be discriminated in 2019? (The Uptimers would tell them the truth) Not just refusing to serve but also refusing or dismantling the war effort. Have Blacks steal or refuse to give food to the US military, give it to starving Black kids instead. |

Okay think this has gone far enough with this. We do not know what Hollywood of 2019 would do if they where transported back to 1946, but doubt they would help in a black uprising in 1946, that is not going to help either side. |

I have no idea mate. But it's really pulling away from the focus of this thread. Yes movies from 2019 would no doubt cause an uproar with the downtimers but the very idea a few movies is going to see a race war is unlikely. This is a 1946 era world. I'm not even sure how many movies could even be shown off to them. I don't think the tech of 1946 could play 2019 era movies out the gate. So it'll be some time before the tech of 2019 can be moved in and replace the older tech of their time. I think tv were black and white in 1946 so I'm unsure how a colored movie would work with tech that can only do black and white. So the number of movies a black community could see would likely be very low. That said this is 1946 an uprising of blacks would be met with great force and unlike the civil rights era of the 1960s tvs will not be there to cover the killings in any real way. Such an uprising would harm their cause for civil right if not outright killing it for years to come. |

As I'm not the biggest moviegoer I would be hard-pressed to know if any movies of that year would cause any sort of uproar from the 1946 era US but I would think seeing so many colored folk would be reason enough to see some parts of the nation to have a proper fit. Which makes this worth asking. Is this asking what would they think of 2019 movies or movies out in 2019 and before? Because the latter allows for way more movies to be shown off to them once the tech is in place to allow them to watch them. I would guess we lose GPS and the like. Nothing was in orbit of Earth in 1946 besides the Moon. So we would need to replace those asap. Good news is no more space junk so missions would be far easier to do. |

In that case we start sending replacement satellites as soon as we can to restore GPS and online. This alone would cause waves as it wasn't until the 1950s that anything manmade was sent into an orbit. Doing so many times over and fairly easily would be worldwide news in the days following the ISOT. If we take the view that movies up to 2019 are sent back that is over 60 years of movies being dropped off all that once in a world still heavily based on one's own race. I think sports movies would do alright. Super Hero movies should also do fine. Most of the big names wouldn't exist for them so it's unclear how well Spider-man would fare. He wasn't made until 1962 so he could flop like a fish for all we know. |
