I am not sure about the 2nd Byzantine Empire
Constantinopole has 50k people snd the area around it is not super populated either.

Ironically this actually makes Persia much stronger not weaker. The power of gunpowder plus historical knowledge benefits the massively populated Persian Empire over the divided low number Greeks. Sparta is 100% screwed.
The Scythians, Arabs, Mongols and Celts are screwed. Gunpowder weapons gave infantry and artillery massive advantages over cavalry and defensive fortifications
India and China will acquire the technology which will rapidly change warfare and social dynamics
