To kill Hitler but do not want to change history

I always wonder, if i go back into time and kill Hitler but do not want to change history, when would i need to do it.

At the Battle of Berlin or immediately before.

Otherwise the butterflies would take hold quickly.

The last day most likely, maybe, he before the assassination was getting ready to move to the Alpine Redoubt, but you killing him forced his generals to cover it up by telling the world that he had killed himself (most because they where tiered of fighting and believe that with Hitler death the war will end), the result is the last cover up in the Third Reich with the events that we now, that he killed himself and Eva Braun.

A few days before would have either Himmler or Goering taking over, if you kill him on the last day than those two will already have betrayed Hitler who ordered their arrest and thus they cannot take over what remains of the Reich.

Even with Himmler or Goering, they cannot possibly beat the Soviets. The disparity was too large by that point.

They would most likely try to create a situation in which the Soviets would attack the Americans, both toughed that a war between the Allies and the Soviets would allow them to lead what was remaining of Germany.

Himmler had still the SS who where loyal to him and had nothing to lose, they could in a desperate attempt try to create a situation, like having one of their units using American weapons and vehicles attack the Soviets.

They did it during Operation Greif during the Battle of the Bulge, it would be not hard to do it again, would be cool to see Waffen-SS commando Otto Skorzeny leading that attack against a Soviet unit who thinks they are encountering a American unit but instead come under attack by them.
