In OTL of 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann licked his hands after making an experiment with alkaloids extracted from purple club-headed fungus. Turns out, he got the first LSD trip ever from it.
Now he had experimented with the substance since 1938, but something like this hadn't happened before, and after all, licking unknown substances isn't recommended. (Strange, usually the Swiss are said to be so orderly if not fussy.)
If you like to use the butterfly effect, this means that TLs with a PoD before (like many WW2 TLs) may very well not have LSD discovered.
If the counter-culture of OTL 1960s was inevitable, hashish, heroin and cocaine may still make a comeback - but they'll have no LSD. Which means it'll look a bit different. Many artists (Robert Crumb) won't make certain trippy works. And many druggies won't suffer bad trips.

Shrooms would be more popular.

Philip K. Dick's writing would be very different.
