My alternate 1940 wikibox. Red shows a state won by the Cordell/Hull ticket, blue shows a state won by the Willkie/McNary ticket.

From my timeline Vox Populi, Vox Dei.
Well that's a markedly bigger majority for leaving. Be interesting to see the effects of that.

An infobox from Timeline 31. A great infobox, nice to see Hawaii remaining a kingdom, but i do wonder if it became a California puppet by accepting Californian help in ending the Hawaiian Civil War.

People have made that claim, yes, but as Hawaii remains independent to this day it's still something of a debate among historians.

So is California the one that has a major naval base in Pearl Harbor as i doubt the Kingdom of Hawaii has a large navy.

It could be that no major power has a base there but that California's a close ally and seeks primarily to keep it out of anyone else's hands? If this is from your Californian republic TL then while there's no US as such there are probably rival powers in N America and also elsewhere in the world and the republic doesn't want someone else having influence there and potentially posing a threat to their trade and interests around the Pacific.

Considering that Japan was very much an imperial power by now, you're pretty close. But all in good time.
