THX, will have a - to look somewhat more into the late Cooldige time as well as into Austria if b) might be possible and how and if there might be some at least financial 'aid' from the US of A.

... and as a side note ... the Briand-Kellogg-pact ... I'm rather unsure if it would have any 'real' effect aside some nice press releases and shake-hands-photographies ...

As so many of the LoN initiatives as well as todays UN initiatives and nice-to-have declarations it also lacked any means of enforceability aside eye-browing. Therefore I don't think it would have any holding back power esp. regarding France. Very like - if the worst case happenes and some military fighting occurs - the french diplomacy would find a dozen ways to explain such action not being initiated by them or the events NOT being covered by the pact.
