Interesting TL. Some things don't change of course but others differ. Suspect Kerry could be a one termer but have to see how things deverlop. He has the problem that with a tight election and the Republicans controlling both Houses they can stop him doing things and then charge him with being inactive.

But many of the things that Kerry faces where what Bush faced in OTL, does this mean that Bush only was elected for a second term because he is a slippery weasel and Kerry is a little bit to honest.

I was talking about Bush's second term. By the end of his first term his approval was around 50%, by his second term it was virtually half that. Iraq, Congress, the economy and more proved very challenging for Bush and likely so for Kerry TTL. Kerry may succeed but there's a good chance he'll fail. You'll have to wait and see.

Romeny's current standing in national polls is poor but he does well in New Hampshire and could use that as a spring-board to the nomination.

Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee is running for President. Frist is a high-profile figure and places second or third in many polls. He declared "We need a leader who can fix Washington" and claimed that because he was part of Washington he can fix it and that he has stood up for conservative principles. His leadership there is a mixed bag however, giving him attention but a lot of negative attention. Frist performs poorly in polls against Kerry and is seen by many as too much of an insider and a partisan figure. However he does better with conservative voters.
