  Actually in 1904-05 when the Russo-Japanese war was waged Britain already had a defensive alliance with Japan dating back to 1901, which was aimed against Russian expansion.  It stayed committed to that alliance, which may have been what kept France from supporting Russia militarily as it would have triggered the British alliance with Japan into full status and lead to a war between the four powers.  Possibly in return it was the chance that France would step in in support of its ally that meat Britain didn't join the war after the Russian attack on its fishing fleet in the North Sea!

  Britain had only recently signed the entente cordial with France to ease tension between the two and there were considerable disputes and tensions with Russia until a similar agreement was signed with them in 1907.  In both cases this was prompted by all three countries seeing Germany as the primary threat to each of them. 

  The Japanese had based their military on what they saw as the best in the west so the navy had close links with the RN and its army with the German one.  [Although this may have been weaken somewhat when after Japan's victory over China in 1895 the Kaiser lead the German-Russian-French bloc that ensured they rather than Japan got the bulk of the gains from the conflict.  That's how Germany got its base in N China and Russia a lot of influence in Manchuria.

  Germany would risk alienating its prime ally Austria if it formed an alliance with Russia.  Also there were serious disputes between Germany and Russia over influence in eastern Europe.  Also the Kaiser, who had a strong phobia against east Asians, would have been very unlikely to sign any alliance with China, see his comments during the Boxer Revolution.  Plus see Sino-Russian differences.  Hence I suspect such a bloc would be politically unlikely.

  Germany does not have a large fleet at this point and if it tried sending what it has east it would be likely to suffer the same fate as the Russian Baltic fleet, especially if they were at war with France, let alone Britain.  It would have a better chance attacking France without fighting Russia as well but it could have serious problems.  In the sort term the French doctrine is more defensive rather than counter-offensive at this point.  Also not sure about the status of the Belgium defences at that stage but Germany didn't have the recently arrived German and Austrian heavy siege artillery that helped defeat the Leige forts OTL. 

  In the longer term there is no Haber process at this stage so with British control of the seas and strong influence in southern America the Germans aren't going to get much nitrates from Chile and the south Pacific.  Without those they can't produce moderate cordite explosives.  They can go back to far less effective gunpowder - if they realise in time and can set up production for them or the German guns will fairly quickly go silent. - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haber_process for more details.

I really dout think that Britain will risk war with the coalition over Japan, the aggressor. The combined Russo-German fleet and Sino. Russo, German army are quite formidable for Japan, especially if it uses German coaling stations.

The coalition need not even destroy the IJN, it need only invade weak and invaluable Formosa, Okinawa and Korea (while the small and incompetent IJA is in the continent) to force Japan to capitulate and join the coalition to acquire European colonies.

  Your talking about an operation that would probably take at least a couple of decades and massive effort to build up China in such a way.  Even longer to build such a Russian fleet given the limitations of the Russian shipyards.  Even if you ignore the deep levels of distrust and diverging interests of the three powers, the antipathy towards the Chinese by the Kaiser or the level of corruption and incompetence in Russia and China.  What are the targets of those forces going to be doing during this period?  I doubt just sitting there twiddling their thumbs.  Furthermore their going to do on a massive wave of unprovoked aggression against everybody in the rest of the world.

  In your reply to Lordroel you were referring to a many year long build up.  That's not going to help Germany or Russia now if Germany suddenly reverses its policies and forms an alliance with Russia against Japan in 1904.  If any other power joins Russia in its war against Japan not only is it in Britain's interest to support Japan - its only formal ally at the time - but its committed by treaty to do so.  The German army is markedly more powerful than the Japanese IF it gets to E Asia.  German troops sunk in transit pose a threat to nobody.

Japan got away with murder only because nobody pitched in. If Germany, A-H, Italy, China, Thailand, etc, which stand to gain a lot from joining an unprecendentedly strong coalition against two obsolete empires or lose a lot from facing it.

Britain managed to retain a ridiculously huge empire, despite a ridiculously small army, only because Germany was diplomatically challenged and only secured few and xtremely weak allies. Russia remained in check for the same reason (diplomatic incompetence to secure strong, reliable allies. France betraying it during the Ruso-Japanese war). By joining forces, Russia, China, A-H, Serbia and Germany can secure a large number of allies and expand unchecked.   The details of the alliance, at that time, later versions varied a bit, committed either power, if the other was at war in E Asia and it was attacked by a 2nd power, to aid its ally. 

  Russia and Germany had some interests in common but also a number of reasons for competition.  Especially in eastern Europe and the Balkans where the question was [or appeared to be] would the region be dominated by German speakers or a Russian led Slavic bloc.  Also the only single power in Europe in the near future would be Russia.  Neither were particularly interested in overseas colonies but were interested in expanding their European territories.

  Also an alliance with Russia would mean dropping both Austria and Turkey, which the Germans had been trying to cultivate as the Ottomans will automatically be opposed to any alliance supporting Russian expansion.

  Britain managed the empire it did because it had naval dominance which was further boosted by being the 1st industrial power.  As others caught up and Britain 'rested at the oars' there were more competition but the carving up of much of Africa from ~1880 was more a question of prestige as the best territories were already claimed and by this time there was very little left other than China or the Ottoman empire and a few smaller locations.

  As I pointed out before your assuming that this coalition of yours is not just formed but also stays active for a decade or two before it can seriously attack the Anglo-French and that they and other potential opponents do virtually nothing in the mean-time.  Also at this point in time a German attempt to invade France is likely to fail and if Britain is allied to France its likely to be disastrous for Germany.

France and the coalition can benefit enormously if France is induced to join it by surrounding it with overwhelming forces. If France joins the coalition, France gets oil, a huge market, unlimited expansion into the Americas, etc,, impossibility of a German invasion. The coalition navy, army, industry and economy becomes invincible and Britain cannot stop a coalition invasion, so it also has to join the coalition, making the destruction of the USN possible in weeks and the invasion ofthe US and Latin America a fact.
Britain can do nothing but join the coalition to survive after France does the same and can also acquire colonies in the Americas.

Day 0, the Kaiser and Tasr meet. The Kaiser explains that France is financing, supplying, aiding and abetting Japan and that a Sino-Russo-German-Serbian alliance can easily forge a coalition including Romania, A-H, Italy, Bulgaria and Thailand. While the coalition is forged in order to gather a fleet and invasion army to defeat Japan, Russia and Germany can invade Scandinavia and Germany can invade Holland and Denmark to acquire invaluable ports and shipyards in the Atlantic for the coalition. Once the coalition is formed, and holland invaded, the coalition can extend an ultimatum on France to apologize to Russia for betraying it, declare war on Japan, join the coalition, contribute a fleet and troops to attack Japan, deliver Indochina to the coalition as compensation for betraying Russia or be at war with the whole coalition. If France joins the coalition, it can invade Frnacophone Belgium, while Germany invades Flemmish Belgium and the coalition can invade and share Belgian Congo, the Protuguese and Dutch colonies, South Africa. With the French navy in the coalition, the latter can land 4 divisions in Ireland, liberate it and extend an ultimatum to Britain to join the coalition or be invaded after 8 days. While Britian ponders the ultimatum, the coalition with invade Ceylon, declare Indian independence and induce india to jointhe coalition.

The moment Japan receives declarations of war from all coalition members (including France, Italy, etc, and knows that a coalition fleet is underway to Japan, it will begin to negotiate peace and may also beinduced to join the coalition.

Day 1 The Tasr signs an alliance with Germany and urges China and Serbia to join the coalition and induce other nations to do so. Serbia does the same day. Germany and Serbia declare war on Japan.

Day 3 China joins the Eurasian coalition and declares war on Japan. Germany and Russia mobilize to invade Denmark and Scandinavia. China mobilizes troops to reinforce Russia and attack the Korean border. 

Day 5 Germany, Russia, China and Serbia extend an ultimatum to A-H, Bulgaria, Rumania, Thailand and Italy to join the coalition or be at war after 3 days.

Day 6 Rumania joins the coalition and adds its signature to the ultimatum.

Day 7 A-H, Thailand, Italy and Bulgaria join the coalition. Germany invades Denmark and Southern Norway and Sweden. Russia invades northern Sweden and Norway. The coalition starts sending ships to Japan and mobilizes to invade the Ottoman empire. It extends an ultimatum to the Ottoman empire to allow coalition war and merchant ships free traffic across the Bosphorus or be at war with all coalition members after 3 days.

Day 8 The coalition extends an ultimatum to France with the terms mentioned above (join the coalition, pay reparations, attack Japan, etc, or be at war with all coalition members after 8 days). Germany invades Flemmish Belgium from Holland , bypassing the strong forts in East Belgium. Germany urges France to occupy francophone Belgium indefinitely.

Day 9 the coalition issues an appeal to the US to use the USN to persuade Japan from evacuating Russia and induce it to pay reparations or to invade Formosa, acquiring a valuable base for the USN and denying Japan the income it is using to finance aggression. Displacing Japan from Formosa also helps to prevent a Japanase attack on the nearby PI.

Day 10 Italy, A-H, Germany and Russia send each 4 divisions to occupy a 30 km swath along the whole Swiss border (including the Franco-Swiss border) and deliver Switzerland an ultimatum to join the coalition of after 48 hours the whole country will be invaded by 30 additional divisions and split among the invaders permanently. Since the Ottoman empire declined free traffic to coalition warships, the coalition invades it.

Day 11 Switzerland joins the coalition. France knows that it doesn´t stand a chance in hell against hundreds of coalition divisions in western Belgium, Switzerland, Alsace-Lorraine, Italy, etc,

Day 12 France joins the coalition, declares war on Japan and the Ottoman empire and prepares a fleet to invade Formosa, Korea and Okinawa. The Bosphorus falls and the Russian fleet enters the Mediterranean.

Day 14 Japan agrees to coalition terms (it yields Korea, Formosa and Okinawa and it joins the coalition).

Day 16 the coalition invades Alexandria, Gibraltar, Suez, Crete and Cyprus. the RN in Malta and Gibraltar is isolated.

Day 20 the Coalition fleet invades South Africa and lands 4 divisions in Ireland to liberate it (including Ulster). The coalition declares Irish independence and wellcomes Ireland as a member. The coalition extends an ultimatum on Britain to join it or be invaded after 8 days. the coalition is capturing large numbers of British merchant ships.

Day 25 the coalition fleet invades Ceylon, Sumatra, New Zealand, Tasmania (IJN, etc,). The coalition declares Indian independence and induces India and Australia to join the coalition.

Day 26 Britain has lost hundreds of ships and faces the coalition fleet and troops in France and Ireland. Britain joins the coalition.

Day 40 The huge coalition fleet transports hundreds of thousands of men to Canada and to the Americas, the PI and Hawaii,.

Day 50 Coalition forces land in Mindoro, Leyte, Oahu, California, Cuba, Florida, texas, New Orleans, etc,
