What If: Collozo and Torresola succeed in 1950?

Two Puerto Rican terrorists made a really serious attempt to kill President Truman in November 1950.
They aimed to bring attention to the cause of Puerto Rico. Let's say they succeed and bring that attention by killing Truman.
In what form does that attention come from the US Govt.? From abroad?

Side note: How does it affect the Korean War too?

So you have liberal Democrat Alben Barkley to take his place. He would've taken a more diplomatic approach to the Korean War, yet he wouldn't have backed down from a conflict. He would've been a better president than Truman, no question there, yet perhaps his approach to Communism wouldn't be as though, putting the following of the Truman Doctrine into question, letting many Marxist regimes to flourish unopposed.

A very different world it could be without Truman.
The Secret Service would have seen major changes in response. I was thinking too how does this affect the beginnings of McCarthyism, which was just then getting going?
