That amount of gold can be expanded pretty quickly if the navy starts raiding Spanish treasure fleets. Remember that it is war and during war the enemies supply lines are fair game. Wonder how much damage a Spanish galleon of War armed with a broadside of guns can do against a De Zeven Provinciën-class frigate before its decides to shoot some rounds in the top of the ship (to disable it, not sink it). If the frigate decides to attack from behind, nothing really. Crossing the T was far more Deadly when all the ships cannons were at the sides rather then in the middle.

Money was the same reason that the two F-35s were immediately grounded on a permanent basis. The “hangar queen” of 5th generation jet fighters were far to expensive to use regularly when the first pair defence system was still three hundred years from being invented. The F-16s could still be used but they were more then thirty year old and could not be used forever. The Royal Air force needed a replacement. That replacement was the Fokker D.22, an overhaul of the interwar Fokker D.21. The Zwaluw would become the workhorse of the Royal Air Force and eventually be used all across the world. Nice one eurowatch, two things i have to say, first, the two F-35s are not yet in the Netherlands before the event as we can call it, unless all Netherlands Armed forces who where overseas (minus those who are deployed in the Netherlands Antilles) has been brought back by the ASB before the event happened, second i have forgotten to say we also operate 13 Pilatus PC-7s trainer aircraft, they could be better to re-engineering then the Fokker D.22 you mention, also i doubt it will be called the Fokker D.22, lets call it the J-1, also it will mostly build by a consortium of companies across the Netherlands.

For the powers fighting in the HRE, the Royal Dutch Army was less an enemy and more a force of nature. Nothing could stand against them, fortresses and fortified cities fell within weeks, enemy armies within days. Even the mighty general Winter only slowed their progress down rather then bring an end to campaigning season like it did with everyone else. After the war ended, the Dutch Army was reformed into a force more focused on defensive warfare then expeditionary war. All of the new dependencies in the former HRE were ordered to raise a regiment each of soldiers, which were typically made up of young men looking for adventure, newly minted patriots and rich men seeking glory, which would then be assembled into corps and arranged into defensive lines on the borders. Especially skilled individuals were plucked from their regiments and assembled into specialised companies like mountain warfare or sappers. To the surprise of the new recruits they were told not to take with them equipment from home (the state paid for everything) and some of the courses were theoretical instead of practical. Things like the laws of war, military strategy and marching were drilled into their minds with the same importance as weapon maintenance and fighting. Backing them was a large pool of reserves who were trained for one month every year and given more low-rate equipment. Due to their civilian status, the common soldiery gave the reservist a host of demeaning nicknames, the least offensive being “weekend warriors”. In the colonies (overseas territories according to The Hague) those weekend warriors did not rechieve the same amount of mockery. Often they were the only thing standing between the common citizenship and a group of angry natives who wanted to kick the white men out of their land. In hindsight, it should not be considered a surprise that the normally peaceful people of New Netherlands developed a gun culture that would have made the USA (now only the city of Washington) proud.
With the Royal Dutch Navy now having global commitments, the demand for new ships was now very apparent. To solve this, a series of five year plans was introduced. By 1627, the navy was going to have ten frigates and eight submarines, by 1632 it would have twenty frigates, sixteen submarines and two cruisers, by 1637 it would have thirty frigates, twenty submarines, six cruisers and an aircraft carrier, by 1642 etc. etc. The constant growth was made possible by the acquiring and development of shipyards in newly conquered Belgium and Germany. After being updated, shipyards in Antwerpen, Kiel and Wilhelmshaven would gradually specialise in producing quality warships. Until the time came, stopgap measures were employed. All warships that served the Dutch Republic before 1621 were given new contracts and ordered to continue their duty. For defence closer to shore, the Navy deployed torpedo boats. These WW1 weapons saw the most use in the Caribbean, where they were primary employed against pirates. At the time, it was unusual for a state to take a no-comprise stance against piracy. The frigates that would be built were not the modern De Seven Provincien-class that formed the core of the 2018-era Dutch Navy, but a slight modernization of the 60s-era Van Speijk-class destroyers. The reasoning behind the decision was that in the current battlefield, guns and armour were far cheaper then the ability to spam missiles.
Money was the same reason that the most of F-16s were used much more sparringly then they could have been. With no capability to Built new ones, every single one of those jet fighters was now worth their weight in gold. And With all of them being almost thirty years old, the danger of them dropping out of the sky due to a malfunction was a very real possibility. The Royal Air force needed a replacement. That replacement was the J-1, an overhaul of the Pilatus PC-7 Trainer. Equipped With guns, missiles and bombs, the Zwaluw would become the workhorse of the Royal Air Force and eventually be used all across the world.
The fast increase in military procurements, the expansion of the related industries and the seemingly easy victory in the Thirty-years War invariable to the rise of a new political block that Dutch politics was not really all that familiar with: the warmongers. They were the kind of people who wanted The Netherlands to get involved in another war so it continue expanding its hard and soft influence over other countries. “We have the world's most powerful military, we have a moral obligation to protect the peace” was their reasoning and they spent their time looking for people who disrupted the peace. They didn't have to look long. War was on the horizon, and it would forever change the Dutch Empire.

The Nederlandse Christelijke Patriooten Partij ( Dutch Christian Patriots Party) began its life as an offshoot of the PVV. The Event and the subsequent increase in population had caused a shift in Dutch politics as all parties tried to appeal to potential new voters. Many would join the established parties, while others would form their own parties to help form society. The vast majority of these parties were small and regional, only interested in influencing their local communities. Other had bigger ambitions. Father Theodore had initially admired the PVV for its strict “no Muslims” stance but had gradually lost faith in the party as it failed to adapt to the lack of Muslims following their exodus to America. In his opinion Wilders was an idiot who lacked vision. He was far different from the great leaders Father Theodore had read about in the history books, men like Roosevelt, Churchill, Thatcher or Trump who had led their people with a steadfast hand to victory. In father Theodore's opinion, the Netherlands needed a leader like that to stand against the Muslim horde and spread the glory of Dutch culture to the rest of the world. He believed himself to be this leader. Despite its democratic inspiration, the NCPP would more commonly be associated with fascism and imperialism due to the its stance on Dutch expansionism and the type of people it tended to attract. According to them, the Netherlands being sent from the future to save Christianity in its hour of need was proof that the Dutch were God's chosen people to lead the West to victory over the Muslim horde. Gradually the NCPP went from a small party only competing in regional elections and fighting members belonging to the Niewe Comunistiche Partij NCPN, who they hated with a passion, to winning seven seats in the second chamber and becoming a part of parliament. Since then they have consistently pushed for military intervention in foreign countries, claiming the victory over Sweden in 1634 (and the subsequent conquest of Gottland) and the victory over the Ottoman empire in 1638 were due to their influence in parliament. They would continue to hold influence in Dutch politics for years to come.

In hindsight I think facists may have been a bit to strong (especially how much the term get thrown around nowaday) since I envisioned them more as a rightwing party that really hated Muslims. As for working With the NCPP, it has been proven that some parties Will litterly sell out their country to foreigners if it means coming into government so I don't think it impossible that they are able to enter a coalition if they are willing to comprise enough. It is also important to remember that Dutch politics are changing. The Dutch population has more then doubled in less then five years and is likely to increase With another ten-thirthy million within a generation, all parties are going to rechieve a very big influx of new voters if they play their Cards right so they are trying to appeal to them as much as possible.

That is very possible. I think that the Netherlands next big internal crisis is going to be figuring out exactly what the Netherlands is going to become. Belgium and Luxemborough are obviously going to be intergrated into the Netherlands directly, but what about the dependencies in Germany? Are they going to continue to remain their own countries or Will they gradually by intergrated into the Netherlands when they are ready? When are they going to be ready? And what about the colonies Overseas territories? Will they become indenpendent countries or Will they also be intregated into the Netherlands? If they are to be intregated, how is such a system going to work?

So a Dutch confedaracy of nations With its capital in The Hague? The problem With that is that unless the Netherlands gets some special privelege or has intergrated the German members, they would not be all that important in the grand scheme of Things and end up de facto being ruled from New Amsterdam, Jakarta or South America. So we might end up With the Netherlands declaring Independence from their own empire.

What about a League of Nations then. Would it be a good idea to base the governance of a hyperpower on an organisation most famous for failing its primary Mission? Well how do you then want to rule Europe, absorbing will make in the future a minor country despite all the tech and know how, a alliance lead by the Netherlands means you have member states becoming jealous of the Netherlands power, which they might be already.

Depends on how good they are at absorbing other countries, if they only focus on absorbing and intergrating a small country at the time over decades then they could plausibly become a pretty big country before the Century is over. And the more popular Dutch culture becomes, the more People Will want to intergrate. As for the rest of Europe, Sweden and Denmark-Norway are still going to duke it out both in what was then Denmark (now Swedish) Territory and in Poland (weaking them in the process). So if they support Denmark-Norway a bit before openly entering the war then they would end up With one country reliant on them and the other exhausted, plus With control of Gotland. With naval and air bases on Gotland the Baltics Will become a Dutch lake and a barrier against Swedish exspansionism. When it comes to England they can either wait for Parliament to want a protestant king instead of a catholic one and invite a Dutch invasion or (Depends on how of blatant they want to be about it) just make up a reason and invite anyway. In the east the Ottoman Empire can serve as a convient foe to support Austria against. Given the size of the Ottoman Empire at the time the Dutch Navy would be forced to set up bases on Crete and Malta to target the Ottoman Empire directly and to fight Barbar piracy. Since the OE has the Ability to throw large armies into the grinder, the Dutch Army Will have to move large army forces into Austria and Built a supply Network to support them. From there they only have to use the same strategy as With Denmark-Norway, give the Austrians enough support that they don't lose but don't give them enough support so that they win. And bomb Istanbul on occassion. After the sultan surrenders you now have an exhausted Austria dependant on Dutch support and naval bases in the Med to det er the muslims from trying anything.
