Makes for an interesting what-if. I.e. that WWI hadn't occurred or the US had stayed neutral. Would there have been a later crisis on the loyalty of German originated people or if not how far might they have integrated or kept their own traditions much more, possibly even to the present day to some degree?

I'd reckon there would be a much more distinct German-American culture, one that's separate from the Anglo-Saxon culture and not just having some aspects seep into the broader culture (e.g. German-style cakes, kindergartens, etc.) - something like modern day Hispanic-American cultures, with the German language being far more in use.
