Drake's Drum

Good Morning all!

I would like to announce that my book, Drake's Drum, has now been published by Sea Lion Press. The first part, Drake's Drum: The Peace of Amiens, is now available as a Kindle on amazon. Here is a link to the book.

A paper edition will follow soon. The manuscript for Part 2, Drake's Drum: The Reckoning, is complete and awaiting editing while the manuscript for Part 3, Drake's Drum: The Horizon of Our Hopes, is approaching completion. I hope to publish all of them in due time.

  I see the picture OK so unless your fixed it the problem is something that only affects some machines/systems.

  Is there a non-Amazon option for the ebook please?  Definitely be interested but prefer not to buy from them.

  I see the picture OK so unless your fixed it the problem is something that only affects some machines/systems.

Yep, i also see it stevep , this reminds me of this article called: Bombing Manhattan, 1943: the Nazi "Amerika Bomber" by Eugen Sanger wich also includes this German map of New York and what a German A-bomb would do on the city.

Well looking at your web page you already have convince me to buy it, i like the Appendices, especially the ORDERS OF BATTLE and ARMOURED FIGHTING VEHICLES once.

  I have a brief look through and some very tasty looking stuff there.  The alternative Battle of the River Plate makes it sound like both powers have markedly more powerful forces than OTL as do the French and presumably other powers.  Initially assumed the Invincible class BC fighting in that battle was a G3 design but it looks different. 

  Also like the reaction of the German general to his promotion.  Know I've met that before but presumably from when you were writing the earlier version on AH.  Paralleling the 'promotion' of von Paulaus in the last stages of Stalingrad but does sound like this German general has more sense than to continue wasting the lives of his men.

  Thanks for that.  A valuable set of clues there.  Sound like the 1st significant butterfly is a markedly better Jutland for the RN which from that comment about Jellicoe and Beatty's advice being treated almost with divine instruction, leading to a far less damaging WNT for Britain.  Then Churchill not forcing Britain back onto the gold standard - although as I understand it the main damage was that he and the Tories insisted on them returning to the 1914 value for sterling, which was good for bankers but very bad for industry.  Followed by a new deal type approach to the recession which would have reduced the damage considerably.    I also like HMS Fearless being a CV built on the hull of an incompeleted Hood class BC.  Looking very good for Britain here.

  On the Invincible the OTL G3 design I referred to was G3_battlecruiser, which had three turrets, two forward and one amidship - the wiki article in the description wrongly mentions all three turrets being ahead of the bridge, which was what happened in the cut down Nelson class that followed the OTL WNT.  The images in Nick's book seem to have a more conventional two forward and one rear turret.  Mind you the OTL G3's were ~48,000 tonners despite using that layout so what size the Invincible's are here I don't know.
