Jaina on the edge of Dalaran gazed upon the new lands that now surrounded Dalaran. No longer could one see the pine trees of Hillsbrad or it’s ample farmlands. Rather now one could see grasslands and a stone road that could do for some repairs. The mages weren’t sure how the city had been transported to these new and unknown lands. Though they knew who was responsible. A giant figure clad in purple and green clothing. Said figure had appeared above Dalaran and began wielding magics unlike any before seen or known.
The power of it was to put it simply overwhelming. Several mages had been temporarily rendered unconscious. When the spell or spells were finished Dalaran had been transported to somewhere else. Where exactly they were was a question on everyone’s mind. They had been unable to contact anyone from the Alliance or find any nearby cities. Scouts were searching the nearby areas for civilization or anybody who could explain exactly where they were. That was not the only issue facing Dalaran. Some of those that had fallen asleep spoke of having been to some realm inhabited by demons.
However these demons are very much unlike those used during the wars involving the Orcs. While some of these demons are mindless like their Azeroth counterpart, some are rather intelligent. Those capable of higher intelligence had attempted to convince Mages to allow them to return to this world by using the Mages as hosts. So far no Mage had agreed to this but in the future some may agree. As well the people of Dalaran were in mourning. There is growing fear that will never see the lands of the Eastern Kingdoms or any of their friends or loved ones.
Jaina had tried avoid thinking about it but it still plagued her thoughts. She would mourn but later. Right now Dalaran needed to establish itself in these new lands. Prepare for any possible threats to the people of Dalaran. She would do everything in her power to help. ‘Power. We haven’t been lacking that since coming here.’ Jaina thought to herself as she observed her right hand being engulfed in crackling blue energy. Shortly after arriving they had discovered they could tap into a new source of magic.
It seems to super-charge the powers of a Wizard. It nows allows newly inducted apprentices to rival the power of Magi’s several years their senior back on Azeroth. Though even more training would be needed to control their enhanced powers. Further dwelling by Jaina on the event and changes brought by it are interrupted by all the too familiar sound of someone arriving by teleportation.
“Miss Proudmoore. Antonidas wishes to speak with you in the Violet Citadel.” A elven mage she was vaguely familiar with said to her as her she turned around.
“Understood.” She said to the elf who nodded before leaving by teleportation. Jaina turned to once more look at the lands that were very likely their new home before teleporting away.
...........................
When Jaina arrived she discovered the Violet Hold to be much like Dalaran. In a state of semi controlled chaos. Mages constantly teleporting in and out. Mages and non-mages alike demanding to know how the Kirin Tor was going to undo what has been done. Attempts by some to console those who were in grief. ‘Odd to see so many elves crying.’ Jaina thought to herself as she observed a sobbing male elf being consoled by one of his human counterparts.
As she thought about this, she continued walking toward the private residence of Antonidas. She stopped before the door and before she could even knock she heard “Well what are you waiting for Jaina. Not like I’m getting any younger.” Jaina shook her head as she slightly giggled at her master’s humor. Jaina opened the door and walked inside and seeing her teacher seated at his desk with several stacks of books about the size of a High Elf. She could see that a majority of them concerned demons and teleporting.
“So you’ve probably noticed a lot of your fellow mages running around panicking like a bunch of chickens without their heads.” Antonidas said as he smirked slightly.
Jaina frowned as she looked at him. “Shouldn’t you be taking this situation a little bit more seriously?” She asked him.
“I am. In my own way. But enough about your fellows. You're aware that we’ve been sending out scouts to get a lay of the lands. Were putting together a number of expeditions to get a better understanding of where we are and to see if any other people inhabit these lands as well. Also to see if there friendly or not.” Antonidas said as he flipped through a book in his hand.
Jaina had a growing idea of why she was here. “You want me to be part of those expeditions I’m guessing?” She asked Antonidas who nodded.
“Correct though I want you to lead one of those expeditions and before you saying I want you to know I was planning to have you put in charge of our investigation of the plague back in Lordaeron.” Antonidas informed a surprised Jaina.
“That would have been a major responsibility. If you believe me ready then I will accept.” Jaina answered.
.”Good. The expedition you will be in charge of will leave within two days. So get ready. Also bring me back a souvenir if you can.” Antonidas said with a smile.
Jaina couldn’t help but smile as well. “I’ll see what I can do. If there’s not anything else to discuss I need to get ready.”
“That is all.” Antonidas replied and Jaina left leaving the old mage trying to figure out a solution to deal with the city’s new damn demon problem.
