A BRAWL TO END A FRIENDLY! ENGLAND-ARGENTINA FRIENDLY MATCH ABANDONED DUE TO CONTROVERSIAL COLLISION ON SOUTHGATE, FANS OF BOTH TEAMS ENGAGE IN BIGGEST BRAWL

(London) - A friendly match between England and Argentina was abandoned after match officials had to interrupt the match repeatedly to prevent fans of both teams from fighting each other. The brawl between England and Argentina fans began when in the 66th minute, Midfielder Gareth Southgate was struck in a collision by two Argentina defenders in Defender Diego Placente and Midfielder Diego Simeone. Other England players, especially captain and Midfielder David Beckham, protested to the referees on the nature of the hit, while Southgate was carried off by a team of paramedics. Both Placente and Simeone received yellow cards for the controversial hit, but it only enraged the Argentina fans further. Yet, only fifteen minutes later, Simeone would receive a knee in the face by Midfielder Owen Hargreaves, resulting in him being sent off after receiving a red card. Simeone would later be escorted by paramedics as well, though in the 81st minute, the match was stopped as Argentina fans unfolded a banner that translated to as 'Gibraltar will be Spanish when Malvinas will be Argentine once again', referring to the territories of Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands. England fans responded by chanting 'next year in Buenos Aires, we'll unleash the British storm'.

"This match should have never taken place, especially in a place like Wembley Stadium," comments England national football team manager George Graham when asked about how things would have gone differently. "The memories of the recent Falklands conflict have been stirred by idiots on both sides, and as a result, Southgate may never play football again. I am sorry for the Argentina players who were affected by this, however."

However, Graham's apology did little to appease the Argentina fans and players alike, who saw the retaliation by Hargreaves as a form of cheap shot aimed at their players. In addition, Argentina coach Marcelo Bielsa was furious at the incident.

"I will have a chat with the two Diegos on not letting their emotions take hold during a match. With such tempers running high, we have been distracted by our anger that we failed to win a match here in England," said Bielsa, who also promised to launch an investigation on how the collision on Gareth Southgate had occurred, and whether or not it was unintentional, or intentional.

No sooner did the officials declare the match to have been abandoned, did fans of both teams streamed out of Wembley Stadium and engaged in what is to become the largest football brawl of the 21st century, surpassing the infamous 1998 Wroclaw brawl between fans of the German and Polish national football teams. The number of injured fans remained unconfirmed while this article is being written, but the last unofficial count remained at over 28 Argentine and 26 English fans that have been confirmed to be on the injury list.

A HISTORY IN THE MAKING! KAZAKHSTAN WINS CRUCIAL MATCH AGAINST SYRIA TO QUALIFY FOR 2002 FIFA WORLD CUP IN JAPAN

(Damascus, SYRIA) - Syria's national football team and their supporters were stunned in silence as Kazakhstan won a crucial game against them, with the score of 2-1. Askhat Kadyrkul had scored the game winning goal at the 81st minute, beating the Syrian goalkeeper by a header. While the Syrian team would try to rally around to force the game to end in a tie, the staunch stubbornness of the Kazakh defenders, plus their determination to win a place in the FIFA World Cup for their wartorn country, had resulted in a fierce Kazakh defense that proved itself to be resilient against repeated Syrian breakthroughs. After the final whistle was blown, much of the Kazakh football fans broke into a song as their players had waved to them in gratitude. Thanks to its victory, Kazakhstan would become the first Central Asian team to officially participate in the FIFA World Cup as an independent nation. Such an achievement is important for the war-torn country, which found itself becoming a battlefield between the Al-Qaeda organization and the invading armies of the self-proclaimed East Slavic Federation.

"This goal that I scored, I dedicate this to the people of Kazakhstan whose future is being fought between the Islamists and the Russian invaders who occupy our northern and western territories," said Kadyrkul during an interview. "Let us use our victory as a means of unifying our nation once more."

Since the end of the Second Russian Civil War and Operation: Batyr, much of Kazakhstan's sports teams had been depleted of its local-born players of foreign origin, mostly Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians. Much of Central Asia's other sports teams, like the Uzbek, Turkmen, Kyrgyz, and Tajik football teams, are also devoid of local born players of foreign origin, resulting in the investment into developing much of its local players that were left. However, the ongoing conflicts in Central Asia as a result of Al-Qaeda's invasion from Afghanistan might have a detrimental effect on the development of Central Asian athletes, as reports of Al-Qaeda fighters rounding up gymnasts and other track and field athletes and executing them had been rife. In addition, there weren't many veterans of the 1990 FIFA World Cup run left in the Kazakh national football team, meaning that the younger players would play a bigger role in the tournament.

  I can understand that given what China plans for your country, although until Tadiar is out of the way the Filipinos have no say in any issue anyway.  However the best approach would be that all three get told by the rest of the world to F**K OFF.  None of them are good for Europe, India or most of the rest of the world outside the core territories of whichever deranged idiot we're talking about.  This is basically a WWII scenario with three potential Hitlers.  Not to mention the impossibility of any of the plans without probably massive nuclear exchanges.

  From what RS says the 'Russia' plan is leaked but how well known are the other two?

  I'm not surprised that someone like Diego Simeone was involved in serious violence as he was a brutal thug when he could get away with it - I remember the disgraceful referring in the 1998 match when several Argentinean should have been red cared for their violent 'tackles' - and just wished that he and the other one had been red carded as they should have.  Its possibly under those circumstances that a young player like Hargraves may have sought revenge although England players are generally too disciplined for that.  [Even the notorious red card for Beckham in 1998 was a feeble contact compared with the studs flying foul that Simeone had just carried out on him. ]  Not at all surprised in a world where rabid nationalism is so prominent that Argentinean fans are making imperial claims again.  Its the problem when people have been lied to for generations to hate outsiders as a way to divert them from the failures of their own governments.  Although the best reply to " Gibraltar will be Spanish when Malvinas will be Argentine once again" - would be "Never!!"

  Going to be interesting in the world cup although pretty certain we're never beaten Brazil in a world cup match so that's going to be tough.  Some interesting groups there although a lot would depend on how teams differ from OTL as well.

  Good luck to Kazakhstan although with their problems at home its going to be bloody difficult for them to have any real success.

Assertiongate is basically the plans of American world domination that was leaked by a whistleblower, although the exposure of the Bo Doctrine will have to be addressed in a future update.

I didn't knew that Diego Simeone had gotten himself involved in such a scandal. I looked up his name among the rosters for the OTL 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Don't be surprised if TTL's 2002 FIFA World Cup would have an England vs Argentina matchup that will be far uglier. As for Kazakhstan, I wouldn't expect them to succeed in this tournament ITTL, but their experience would later be useful for building the generation of footballers that would play in the 2014 World Cup when it's Kazakhstan's turn to host it. I've also mentioned in another update that the 2006 World Cup would mark Uzbekistan's debut, though they are in a far worse condition than Kazakhstan were in the Al-Qaeda occupation period.

Chapter Eighty-Five: A New Maroon Scare

REVOLUTION BREAKS OUT IN VENEZUELA! MILITARY OFFICERS LAUNCH COUP AGAINST PRESIDENT CALDERA AS HE FLEES THE COUNTRY

October 24, 2000

(Caracas, VENEZUELA) - Amidst the growing economic instability that has wracked the increasingly impoverished nation, elements of the Venezuelan military had launched a coup against President Rafael Caldera as he and several members of his own government had fled from the country. The Caldera government had been on their way to the United States, as of the time this article has been written, but sources close to the Caldera government had revealed that there were tensions between the President and several military officers that lingered after the failed MBR-200 coup back in 1992, when it was launched by the late Hugo Chavez. In addition, thousands of civilians had gone into the streets to demand for political changes to take hold of the country, even as loyalist soldiers were waiting for an order from their President that will never come. However, rebel soldiers consisted of miitary personnel who defected to Ramon Rodriguez Chacin's side had been instrumental in seizing control of various military bases throughout the hinterlands, with only Fort Tiuna remaining in loyalist hands.

"The time for change has finally come, and we the Venezuelan people await its savior in Ramon Rodriguez Chacin!" says one of the activists who came out to demonstrate in favor of Chacin. "No more economic exploitation on behalf of American corporations! We have seized the moment for change, and we will not let it go this time around!"

Various foreign volunteers, many of whom have come from around Latin America, but a few did travel to Venezuela through Brazil from Europe, to join the rebel forces. Of these volunteers, 93% of them had ties to far-left organizations, with only 7% of the volunteers that have actual combat experience, dating back to the Second Russian Civil War. Other volunteers who came to fight have joined the loyalist side, though they were not a lot of them, as they were still being watched by their respective countries' intelligence agencies. In addition, of the foreign volunteers that came from around Latin America, several thousand of them were Cuban and Nicaraguan refugees that have fled from their homelands due to the ongoing American military occupation there, while former fighters that fought for FARC in Colombia and the Tupac Amaru movement in Peru have already formed ties with Chacin's movement. Unlike the veterans of the Second Russian Civil War, these guerrilla fighters who gained experience from waging rebellions against their respective government bring valuable lessons in both urban and jungle warfare, which would also help the greatly strengthened rebel forces.

At the same time, the Kemp administration has kept a close eyes on events in Venezuela and has offered to host President Caldera for the time being, as loyalist troops prepare for the inevitable combat with the rebel forces. In addition, while President Caldera requested for American assistance in suppressing the rebels, the ongoing guerrilla wars in Cuba and Nicaragua would make it impossible for President Kemp to send more American troops. Even worse, the returning soldiers who came back from those two countries have started to protest the war they participated in, and the daily number of returning soldiers with injuries or lost body parts have increased fivefold. Fearing a greater loss of influence on the already agitated returning veterans of the conflict, President Kemp hesitated to send more soldiers to bolster the Venezuelan loyalist forces. However, various US military generals have already raised the alarm to the resurgent threat of the Cuban and Nicaraguan insurgents, many of whom had chosen to continue the struggle to dislodge the American forces from their lands.

"Venezuela's instability will not serve the entire region well in the long run," says Kemp during a press conference on the ongoing issue in Venezuela. "We're also dangerously close to exhausting our options regarding the unstable country, but at the same time we must help restore the government of Rafael Caldera and bring back the Venezuelan people's confidence in their leaders."

GUAYANA CITY FALLS TO CHACIN-ALIGNED REBEL FORCES AS MORE VOLUNTEERS JOIN TO FIGHT FOR REBEL LEADER

(Guayana City, VENEZUELA) - Adding to the woes of the loyalist forces, rebel forces under the command of Ramon Rodriguez Chacin have seized control of a strategic city straddling the Orinoco River. Around 5 AM, local time, rebel forces launched several surprise attacks on isolated loyalist garrisons through artillery bombardment, while three squadrons of the Venezuelan Air Force that defected to the rebel forces, now they've provided enough air power to overwhelm the loyalist defenses. In the midst of the escalating conflict, the rebel forces were also aided by a sympathetic network of pro-Chacin saboteurs within Guayana City, which provided enough intel and much needed supplies to the rebel forces. At the same time, a loyalist attempt to relieve the city was met with a surprise attack by a rebel-aligned militia that sprung up in the area, which consisted of guerrilla fighters partially trained by the battle hardened pro-Chacin guerrillas from both FARC and the Tupac Amaru movement. Inside the liberated city, Ramon Rodriguez Chacin has announced the formation of a provisional government for the city, which will serve as the basis for a rebel government.

"I hereby proclaim to the liberated peoples who suffered under the regime of the petty tyrant Rafael Caldera, that we as the armed soldiers, sailors, and pilots of the new Venezuelan Social Republic, do hereby declare the formation of a new government that will serve the interests of the Venezuelan people, of all social classes and ethnic backgrounds," says Chacin, during a political rally held inside liberated Guayana City. "This fight is the protracted people's war for national survival and patriotic dignity, and it shall serve as an inspiration for those who continue to suffer under the jackboot of American corporate capitalist interests. We do however, refuse to align ourselves with the old fossils from the leftover communist movement, as they have outlived their usefulness."

In response to the erupting power vaccuum, several Venezuelan left-wing parties met in Caracas, where their representatives proposed a merger of all the left-wing parties that were present with the Chacin-controlled Provisional Government of the Venezuelan Social Republic. Among them, Francisco Arias Cardenas emerged as one of the most vocal supporters of the new government, and in fact had campaigned to become the leader of a unified Venezuelan leftist movement. To add to the momentum, several non-leftist parties like the Copei movement (a Christian Democratic party that advocated for Catholic social teaching), Hope for Change, and Democratic Action, had also joined the leftist-dominated coalition that would approach Ramon Rodriguez Chacin for a proposal for a bigger merger that will lead to the formation of the new Venezuelan government.

"A bright dawn shines over Venezuela, and the Venezuelan people are tired of the same corrupt politicians who have accepted the poisoned chalice called the IMF loans, in exchange for questionable economic reforms that only benefited the wealthy elite and their overlords in Corporate America," Cardenas said, while addressing the same crowd that listened to Chacin's declaration earlier. "This is a clear message that we will send to President Jack Kemp: you will not destroy our nation the same way you destroyed Cuba and Nicaragua. The era of protracted people's war has returned, but it will come under the banner of a national liberation struggle from American corruption!"

SYRIAN SOCIAL NATIONALIST PARTY MILITANT WING ARRIVE IN GUAYANA CITY AS THEY JOIN THE CHACIN REBELS IN THE ADVANCE ON CIUDAD BOLIVAR

(Caracas, VENEZUELA) - Around 5,000 volunteers from Syria had arrived in Venezuela to link up with Ramon Rodriguez Chacin's rebel forces, according to the official spokesperson for the Venezuelan government-in-exile, which is based in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Syrian volunteers did not come from the Basel al-Assad government, but rather from Assad's allies in the Syrian Social Nationalist Party. The SSNP, which established ties with Chacin back when he was in exile, had been the inspiration for Chacin's takeover of MBR-200, which had now accepted social nationalism as one of its tenets. In addition, around 7,000 volunteers from the Syrian Ba'ath Brigades were covertly deployed to Venezuela, along with 500 troops from the dreaded Tiger Forces, a Syrian Special Forces unit commanded by Suheil al-Hassan. The Syrian volunteers arrived through the rebel-held city of Barrancas and Guayana City, alongside volunteers from Lebanon, especially supporters from the Kataeb Party and Hezbollah. Although questions of how those volunteers were able to avoid American detection, it became apparent that neighboring Brazil had in fact opened its airports to aircraft arriving from Syria, which had to refuel first in Morocco for the Trans-Atlantic flight.

"The moment has come for us to restore order to such a great nation like Venezuela, and it will be finished and reconstructed along the lines of Social Nationalism," says SSNP Chairman Ali Haidar, shortly after he finished inspecting the volunteers who will go to Venezuela via Morocco and Brazil. "Venezuela's fight against the corrosive influence of American capitalism is also our fight as well, for if we do not stop the Great Satan in Venezuela, they will eventually come for Syria next."

The Kemp administration has swiftly condemned the presence of Syrian and Lebanese volunteers in Venezuela's civil war, and is seen as a serious breach of the Monroe Doctrine. In fact, it is their presence that might force President Kemp to deploy some more American troops to Venezuela, and has raised the defense posture to DEFCON 2, raising a possibility for a war with Syria and Lebanon as well. The possibility of war with the two Middle Eastern nations however, is seen as something that the Israeli government had wanted, as it would neutralize the threat that Syria and Lebanon would pose to Israel's security.

"Starting on November 14, we will be deploying around 6,000 Marines to Venezuela to bolster the loyalist forces of Rafael Caldera, as well as the redeployment of certain battle hardened troops from Cuba and Nicaragua to reinforce our Marines that will be sent to Venezuela. In addition, we will also send fresh troops to replace the ones that will go to Venezuela," Kemp announced during a press conference that was kept behind closed doors, to prevent protests from breaking out. "American interests that are enshrined in the Monroe Doctrine have been compromised by the Syrians and Lebanese. It is clear that Basel al-Assad is enabling his ideological ally Ramon Rodriguez Chacin to create a Latin American Ba'athist dictatorship that will be a thorn on America's side."

However, no sooner did Kemp made his announcement that over 4,000 protesters, including disabled war veterans who returned from Cuba and Nicaragua, had marched on the capital, with the sole intention of forcing the President to change his mind. Even the military leadership was divided over the Venezuelan issue, since it would distract them from their other goals that have to be met.

"At some point, we need to ask ourselves if we should go to war against Syria and Lebanon because they've deployed their volunteers in an area that is considered as our backyard," Counselor to the President Zbigniew Brzezinski commented. "It is also clear that the Assad regime and the Lebanese collaborationist government are given instructions from the pseudo-state known as the East Slavic Federation to create chaos within the Western Hemisphere."

Chapter Twelve: A Crisis Gone Hot

By the time we returned to the White House from our trip to Israel, we learned that Venezuela descended into civil war. We should have seen it coming; their economic crises kept on going, until the people there were fed up with what they're seeing and turning towards a man that they think will save them. We however, knew better. Chacin comes from the same cloth as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, and we were determined to get rid of him. Unfortunately, we are suffering from the blowback that we ourselves had created. Venezuela was supposed to have its own version of Artemio Tadiar, and what emerged instead was a dark, left-wing mirror image of Tadiar in Chacin. Everywhere we went, especially within the suburbs of Philadelphia, New York, even Washington, DC itself, there were photos of Chacin on the wall, and a mural was painted with his face in it, until some brave patriot had the courage to splatter white paint on it. When we entered the Oval Offie, we were shocked at what the President had looked like now. When we last saw President Kemp, he was energetic and raring to go. Now, we looked at him and wondered if he has been sleeping at all.

To our horror, President Kemp had to take short naps in between the meetings with various officials because the events in Venezuela had constantly cut into his sleeping hours, plus the ongoing Russian military adventurism in Kazakhstan had been on the minds of the national security personnel. Vice President Lamar Alexander also looked tired, but at least he took over the meetings while the President had a nap.

"I swear, one of these days, we need to impose a three day mandatory sleep on President Kemp," Vice President Alexander muttered before turning towards me and Steve. "Gentlemen, I take it that your stay in Israel was a productive affair."

Steve nodded in agreement, but he didn't look too happy. "Well, the Israeli government was asking us when they would be allowed to expel the Syrians from the Golan Heights. Looks like we're about to give them that chance to get rid of them."

"True, but the Israeli Defense Force still needs to get its act together before they can launch their offensives against the Syrian military. Moreover, there's also the Syrian occupation of Lebanon as well, meaning that they can simply go around the Golan Heights to invade northern Israel. The Israelis are still our ally, so we are bound to come to their aid if they need our help, which is exactly what President Kemp wanted," Vice President Alexander explained.

Just then, President Kemp yawned and looked up from the couch he used to take a nap and gasped as we gave him a short bow.

"Mr. President."

"Gentlemen, I hope you've come back to America with some good news. Last time I heard, Chacin has seized control of the southern regions of Venezuela, up to the south banks of the Orinoco. Now, he's aiming to expand northwards, but I still need your input on how an additional 10,000 strong American soldiers will help President Caldera to regain his office," President Kemp told us.

"If working with public relations had taught me anything, Mr. President, is that the opinions of the people that you want to establish close links should be taken into consideration," I answered back. "On our way here, we saw over a thousand protesters marching in front of the Washington Monument."

"Those naive idiots!" President Kemp snarled. "Don't they realize that what they're fighting for would benefit them in the long run?"

I sighed in exhaustion. "I doubt that lost limbs and lost arms would be beneficial to them in the long run, especially if they can't get their lives back to normal."

"On that other note, which front would be more important in this case? We have to dislodge the Syrian and Lebanese volunteers who came to Venezuela, and at the same time we have to punish them by a possible invasion," Steve answered back. "In addition, we can build up on a possible invasion of Syria and Lebanon to depose the Assad regime, and bring democracy to Syria."

I snorted. "How will that end up, if it isn't going to blow up in our faces? We all know that Iraq's dictatorship collapsed because of a worse performance in their war against Iran, and a general Kurdish uprising. I'd say we need to force the Syrians into a war that they wouldn't be able to win."

President Kemp looked at me and nodded, indicating that he knows that I wanted to suggest. There was a globe sitting on top of a small desk as he gave it to me. I pointed at the spot where Syria is, and traced it to the spots where Turkey and Israel are.

"We can persuade both Israel and Turkey to create some chaos within their borders with Syria and provoke the Assad regime into attacking them. By doing so, we could come to Israel's aid and at the same time activate Article V of the NATO charter," I explained, to the shock of the people present. "We can also use this opportunity to dislodge the Chinese from Armenia, and bring the former Soviet base in Gyumri under our control, provided that 50% of the garrison troops be American."

Vice President Alexander, however, shook his head in disagreement. "While the false flag scenario could work in the short term, the only thing that will accomplish is to drag China into a shooting war with us, and I would not doubt that the Russians would also get involved. They recently signed a military alliance with Georgia, where the Georgian military will receive military hardware from Russia at a discount price. No, I think that the Russians would rather annex Armenia than to let it fall into Turkish hands, or our control. While it could force the Russians to stretch their supply lines from Kazakhstan to the Caucasus, we'd also be stretching our own supply lines as well, if we're taking into account our ongoing military operations in Cuba and Nicaragua, followed by a planned intervention in Venezuela."

"The Vice President is right," President Kemp spoke up as Vice President Alexander stood up and allowed the President to sit in his chair. "We're looking at a scenario for a global conflict." He slowly got up from his chair and went towards the door. He locked up the doors and returned to his desk, before returning back to his desk. "What I said here, cannot leave this room."

Because of his insistence that the next discussions were to be kept secret, I could not include what he said on this entry. However, what I could say regarding his discussions with us, is that he was initiating a plan called Atlantic Assertion. I wasn't told of the greater details in it, but let's say it will be beneficial to the Euro-Atlantic alliance. In my case however, I would have preferred to at least detach Belarus and Ukraine from the pseudo-ESF and at least convince the Russians to trade Kaliningrad Oblast for Crimea, since Kaliningrad Oblast wasn't historically Russian like Crimean was, though that might upset our Ukrainian partners.

"Either way, I honestly think that the re-absorption of Ukraine and Belarus into Russia would ultimately be their undoing, as they would be forced to resort to even more oppressive measures to ensure that they would keep up the myth of Russian territorial invincibility. Otherwise, if even one of the titular republics were to secede, it will encourage more secessions until Russia would be small enough for us to impose total control. However, that would only feed them the paranoia," Vice President Alexander told us. "Even worse, election observers had told us that the referendum was conducted in a legal manner, and that while there were a few vote rigging attempts, both in favor of the merger, and opposed to the merger, the voter turnout was around 95%. Whether we like it or not, at some point we will have to come to a sobering reality that this entity calling itself the East Slavic Federation is real. At the same time however, we could secretly sponsor separatist movements within the ESF."

We stopped for a moment as we heard someone knocking. Steve opened the door, and Zbigniew Brzezinski stepped inside, followed by someone that I didn't know too well, but I have heard of his reputation.

"Counselor Brzezinski. Mr. Soros," the President said as he greeted them.

"Mr. President," both men chorused at the same time.

"How can we help you both today?" Vice President Alexander asked the two newcomers.

It was George Soros who spoke first. "We've all heard of your complaints about the illegitimate entity that has arisen from the ashes of the former Soviet Union, and we would like to propose some ideas."

"What ideas? Some of us have already spoken about it," I said with an irritated voice.

"True, but we wanted to add our own suggestions regarding the Russian Question," Brzezinski replied back. He looked at the globe that sat on the President's desk and looked at it. "You've wanted to break up the illegitimate entity, but you don't know how without triggering a massive nuclear war, correct?"

"True," President Kemp replied back cautiously. "What do you propose, Mr. Brzezinski?"

"Simple, really. In addition to inciting Belarus and Ukraine to rebel, there are several captive nations that we would like to sponsor their independence. The entirety of the Russian state have some autonomous republics that deserve to be free, even including the Russian Extreme North. We could break up Russia by inciting rebellions within those minorities, and when they get their independence, they can simply expel the Russians living there to a new rump Russian republic. Furthermore, we could turn all of Russia into a gigantic corporate colony of the ECA and the USA, with China getting the Russian Far East," Brzezinski suggested.

I was stunned when Vice President Alexander slammed his hands into his desk. "Mr. Brzezinski, are you fucking insane?! What is it that you're suggesting?"

"In just one phrase: the Final Solution to the Russian Question. Keep in mind, Mr. Vice President, that Russia remains the last obstacle to an American unipolar world. Exterminating its existence is necessary for America to gain supreme control." Brzezinski glared at the Vice President. "Listen to me, for there is something I have to say. The era where there is multipolarism must come to an end. There has been far too many competition among so-called great powers, and there are far too many opponents of globalization and unipolarism. As long as Russia continues to exist, there will be people who will look to it for inspiration in terms of anti-globalism."

"For once, I have to agree with the Vice President," I replied back in a cold voice. "Your phrasing of the Russian Question and the Final Solution to it makes you sound like a Nazi."

"A Nazi?" Brzezinski growled. "My homeland was ripped apart by Nazis and the Soviets. How dare you call me by such a despicable insult?"

"I don't like the Russians any more than you do, but stooping down so low as to advocate a Nazi-like solution isn't going to help us win favors among the international community. China right now is the bigger enemy than Russia." I sighed angrily as Steve shook his head when I was about to leave the room. "Mr. President, if I may suggest one thing, it's that we must abolish P.L. 86-90, or at least revise it to ensure that only Belarus and Ukraine would be allowed to leave. I have received reports from the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel when I stayed there that the Russians continue to settle in parts of Eastern Ukraine, despite being a part of the pseudo-ESF. Right now, Russians are seriously close to becoming the majority in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Berdyansk, and even in the Crimea. Yet, despite Azarov's promise to keep Crimea under Ukrainian authority, I'm sure that he has some backup plans in case something like this were to happen. We want to break up the pseudo-ESF badly, but we must do it in a way that would satisfy everyone."

"Who cares about satisfying anyone, especially the Russians? Keep in mind that Azarov has banned NGOs from operating within the ESF, so how can we expect to know how much human rights violations have been committed?" Soros asked us heatedly. "If you do not have the brains, hearts, and guts to do whatever it takes, then we'll just ask our friends to find someone who will."

Soros and Brzezinski soon walked out of the door, leaving all of us in relief as we were safe to resume our conversation. President Kemp closed his eyes for a moment, before exhaling and sitting down once again.

"You know, in hindsight, I think that Belarus and Ukraine might actually help Russia break out of its autocratic tendencies. It's basically a double edged sword, the existence of the pseudo-ESF. The worst alternative would have been to allow the resurgence of communism to come back in the former Soviet Union, and that might actually be far worse, since all the communists would have to do is to give back their occupied territories to Kazakhstan, and bring Central Asia back under their control," President Kemp said gravely, to our surprise. "In addition, the far-right in the pseudo-ESF is also attracting scores of disillusioned leftists into their group by appealing to the anti-capitalist nature of their movement. This is our biggest fear: that one day the pseudo-ESF would one day join China in dislodging us from the Eurasian continent. That cannot be allowed to happen, as long as I'm in office."

DEBATE IN THE DUMA ERUPTS INTO A FIGHT OVER THE ISSUE OF REPEALING THE LUSTRATION POLICY TOWARDS EX-SOVIET LOYALIST OFFICIALS

(Moscow) - The 11th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second Russian Civil War had gone off smoothly in public, but inside the Duma, a political fight erupted over one of the independent Members of the Duma's proposal to repeal the lustration policy that banned former Soviet officials from serving in the post-Soviet government. Supporters of the lustration policy had in fact assaulted the offending member, before opponents of lustration went down to support their assaulted colleague and a fight began. The continued policy of lustration had began to boil over into the public, especially with the marginalized leftovers of the once powerful communist movement, but had now been reorganized by the leader of the National Bolshevik Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky. At the same time, in Moscow's Manezhnaya Square, several Russian nationalist and pan-Slavic movements began their march to celebrate the official start of what they called 'the liberation of the East Slavs and other nationalities from the yoke of Bolshevism', resulting in fights with the resurgent anti-fascist organizations that sprung up to commemorate the same civil war, only to mourn for the soldiers who died defending the Soviet loyalist government.

"Why should we have to put up with the petty idiots who continued to call for bringing back the same communists who are responsible for the corruption in the first place? We have realized that your fight against capitalism is legitimate, but at the same time you are fighting your fellow Slavs and other patriotic minorities who want to live in a prosperous East Slavic Federation. This isn't the time for petty arguments," said Aleksander Barkashov, one of the second most powerful figures within Aleksander Ivanov-Sukharevsky's Slavic National Assembly movement. "Let us rebuild the so-called Red-Brown alliance, and even invite the Syndicalist Maroons that have emerged to steal whatever's left of your meager socialist movement."

In addition to the extreme right-wing movements, an obscure but growing leftist movement has also been on the news lately. Dominated by a motley collection of post-secondary students, but also joined by the impoverished farmers and industrial workers, this syndicalist movement had been siphoning off members from the other socialist parties that have suffered from lustration policies, making it one of the most dangerous challengers to the established political system in the East Slavic Federation. Though they called themselves syndicalists, they also were nationalists who feared the growth of American capitalist influences in the post-Soviet space, and what they saw as the one-sided persecution of the Soviet loyalist veterans who fought for their government. The Movement for National Redemption, a political movement that was inspired, ironically enough, by the rebel National Redemption Army of Aleksander Lebed, had been building a network of support from across the poorer regions of the East Slavic Federation. However, the Movement for National Redemption is run by a collective leadership formally labeled as the Council of Twelve, with the following members: Sergey Baburin, Mikhail Astafyev, Aleksander Barkashov, Boris Kolesnikov (Ukrainian: Borys Kolesnikov), Petro Pysarchuk, Aleksander Efremov (Ukrainian: Oleksandr Yefremov), Viktor Medvedcuk, Gennady Davydko (Belarusian: Hienadz Davydzka), Nikolay Ulakhovich (Belarusian: Mykalaj Ulakhovich), Siarhey Yermak, and Sergei Gaidukevich (Belarusian: Syarhey Gaidukevich). All of these members share power in the Council of Twelve, and all of them have also pledged to come to a compromise between the pro-lustration and anti-lustration factions within the Duma.

"We believe that the patriotic movement that leans towards the preservation of the Soviet patriotic legacy had been disrupted by the vengeful politicians who delight in smearing the Soviet past through the mud," says Sergei Gaidukevich, during a party session in Polotsk, in the autonomous Republic of Belarus. "The problem today is that the people of the East Slavic Federation are deeply divided over the legacy of the brutal civil war we had, and it certainly does not help when opportunists want us to imitate the Europeans and Americans in the way they govern their country and the way they develop their love for money."

If you've read Brzezinski's book "The Grand Chessboard", it does explain how they want to carve out Russia in the event of another conflict: European Russia, Siberia, and the Far East. This is the same guy who convinced the Carter administration to start sending aid to the Mujahideen that were sent to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets, and those same Mujahideen fighters are now fighting in Central Asia ITTL, so there would be a lot more blood on his hands. 

At some point, you might start seeing some of the people within the Kemp administration who may end up getting cold feet. The fact that both Brzezinski and Soros are present in TTL's Manafort's novel would probably mean one thing: they might have a bigger role to play.

Well, color revolutions are pretty much dead in the water after 1986, with the Carnation Revolution being the only successful BLOODLESS revolution to date ITTL. 

The only difference between TTL's Kemp and say, OTL's George W. Bush or even OTL Trump is that the two ideologically opposite sides are armed and experienced veterans of a civil war in the former Soviet Union, so in a way we might see a Second American Civil War breaking out in a similar scenario to TTL's Second Russian Civil War.

One crucial difference between TTL's ESF and OTL Russia and Belarus is that the lustration policy was aimed at banning former Communist Party officials from serving in a post-communist government, so that policy has so far been successful in preventing leftist voices from reaching out, until we may get a scenario where the left and the right in the ESF would consider joining forces and putting a possible candidate that is so controversial, they might protest at that decision. 

I was toying with the idea of ending the ESF in either a peaceful manner, or a bloody manner, with Belarus and Ukraine electing pro-ECA candidates, while Russia would be stuck between the ECA and China. Going back to that controversial candidate, the first thing said unknown candidate would do would be to return the borderlands that the Russian SFSR seized at the end of TTL's Second Russian Civil war back to Kazakhstan, in exchange for forming a new kind of ESF with them and Kyrgyzstan, though the recent conflict might make it a failed project. In hindsight, having Ukraine as part of the ESF would actually hinder the more autocratic tendencies of Russia within the ESF.

The only difference between TTL's Kemp and say, OTL's George W. Bush or even OTL Trump is that the two ideologically opposite sides are armed and experienced veterans of a civil war in the former Soviet Union, so in a way we might see a Second American Civil War breaking out in a similar scenario to TTL's Second Russian Civil War.

One crucial difference between TTL's ESF and OTL Russia and Belarus is that the lustration policy was aimed at banning former Communist Party officials from serving in a post-communist government, so that policy has so far been successful in preventing leftist voices from reaching out, until we may get a scenario where the left and the right in the ESF would consider joining forces and putting a possible candidate that is so controversial, they might protest at that decision. 

I was toying with the idea of ending the ESF in either a peaceful manner, or a bloody manner, with Belarus and Ukraine electing pro-ECA candidates, while Russia would be stuck between the ECA and China. Going back to that controversial candidate, the first thing said unknown candidate would do would be to return the borderlands that the Russian SFSR seized at the end of TTL's Second Russian Civil war back to Kazakhstan, in exchange for forming a new kind of ESF with them and Kyrgyzstan, though the recent conflict might make it a failed project. In hindsight, having Ukraine as part of the ESF would actually hinder the more autocratic tendencies of Russia within the ESF.

Well, it got the ball rolling faster than usual, and also we're fast approaching the one year anniversary of TL, so I would need to post a special update on the anniversary of TL, plus I have a future TL project in mind as well.

  I don't know about this.  W was rather an idiot and rash but he didn't seem to have the same contempt for the wider world and the rule of law as Trump, let along Kemp who is seeking to destroy democracy and cause chaos and destruction across the world - as well as your suggested planning to end democracy in the US itself.  W was willing to support torture but I doubt he would have gone in for sponsoring terrorist groups inside the US itself.  Trump is an idiot, corrupt and lazy but Kemp seems to be deranged on the form of Hitler Stalin or Mao - or for a more recent example some of the Muslim fundamentalist leaders he so closely resembles.

Much of Kemp's world view was shaped by his early political career IOTL, but where he took off was right in the Jesse Jackson administration. You could say that Kemp's descent into the deep end of the sanity pool started with Jesse Jackson's failed foreign policy and a desire to see himself as the opposite of Jackson. Far too much in the opposite is what happened.

On the other hand, I actually enjoy writing parts around Alex Jones ITTL. With some different circumstances, he would have been an actual decent person instead of whatever he is IOTL.
