From 1945 until 1955, Austria, like Germany, was divided under occupation by the Four Allied Powers: Vienna, inside the Soviet zone, was also divided up. A conclusion to the status of occupied Austria was reached and the foreign armies moved out.
Could things have gone the other way though? A Vienna Wall? An Inner-Austrian Border? Soviet Group of Forces Austria? NATO's Southern Army Group?

Well the problem is, Vienna, as it is located in Soviet backed People Republic of Austria, it will be divided like Berlin, the city is divided among all four Allies. The historical center of Vienna is declared an international zone, in which occupation forces changed every month (this might become a issues in the future because it can never last long this).

Ouch that is a mess. The French and US zones aren't too bad but the British and Soviet ones are split into two by each other. Possibly need to swap regions 3 & 11 for 4 & 10 to give coherent areas, As you say having region 1 with a rotating control is very awkward. I suspect the Soviets would probably be especially upset with that as it allows people to flee into in from their zone when the western powers are in control and also to flee on to allied zones before the Soviets take their turn.

This would cause a lot of confusion among the international diplomats. Vienna becomes the next flashpoint just like Berlin and the Korean DMZ.

In any case, IRC West Austria was planned to be reunited with West Germany in this case as at the time she was not a viable autonomous nation

Couldn't the Soviets push for the cession of Burgenland to their Hungarian puppet state, in the event that the two Austrias would remain divided? Or could the Soviets push for the unification of their portion of Austria (East Austria in this case) with the Hungarian People's Republic? I wonder if that would have been the case if West Austria was planned to be reunited with West Germany.

Because East Austria doesn’t share a border with East Germany. They do share a border with Hungary and Czechoslovakia.

Austria doesn't gain anything for the Soviets and costs them more. Neutralising it removes a threat to their south and allows them to push forward their position as a good international actor, thus increasing their efforts to neutralise Germany.
Faced with that, post-Stalin, there isn't a reason to hang onto a fairly minor and not particularly industrially valuable bit of real estate.
