IOTL, whilst Adolf Hitler would later claim that he didn't wish to serve the Austro-Hungarian Empire because of the mixture of races in its army, he did actually attempt to join the Austro-Hungarian Army, and only returned to Munich- where he would volunteer to serve in the Bavarian Army as an Austrian citizen, and gain the wartime experience which reinforced his German patriotism- after he was deemed unfit for service by the Austro-Hungarian Army, failing his physical exam in Salzburg on 5 February 1914. So then, what if Adolf Hitler had successfully scraped through to pass his physical exam in Salzburg, and entered service in WW1 with the Austro-Hungarian Army instead, reinforcing his Austrian patriotism instead of his German patriotism? How might the Austrofascist movement develop if Adolf Hitler ends up rising to power there, and leading it, as he did with OTL's Nazism? And what happens to TTL's German National Socialist Party- who else would be most likely to rise to lead the movement, in Hitler's absence? And would they be more or less likely to succeed in taking power there?

In Hitler's absence, someone else with anti-Semetic views as him would take his place. Germany's defeat in World War I already paved that path for some analogue to rise.

Alternatively, you may also get a vanilla fascist German regime that wouldn’t be as hardcore extremist as the OTL Nazis like the DNVP. However, you could also get a NazBol-esque German Worker’s Party with the Strasser brothers becoming leaders instead.

Its likely that assuming the central powers lose in a similar way you will have a revanchist and right wing element that will gain influence in Germany but it may be more or less extreme and more or less dangerous than OTL.
The other issue of course is would Hitler survive in the Austrian army? It took markedly heavy losses in many actions and he could easily end up dead or imprisoned on the eastern front.

Erich Lundendorff won't have any opposition to rule far-right groups in Germany, and his military experience would be a major issue for any opposing political forces.
