Not long after leaving office in 1993, George H.W. Bush went to Kuwait. The night beforehand, local authorities discovered a bomb ready to explode and kill him. Clinton would later launch two dozen cruise missiles against Iraq. Later allegations have been that the entire thing was a Kuwaiti false flag: the bomb was never meant to go off, Iraq would get the blame for trying & thus be attacked by the US. These are allegations, not proven fact.
Let us say that the plot was real and the bomb did go off to kill Bush 41. Now what? Iraq has just killed the most-recent US president, murdering him in a bomb attack on foreign soil. A far bigger US strike against Iraq? An effort to topple Saddam? Gulf War Two but with an invasion?

If the bomb does kill George H.W. Bush I think we would be seeing a second war. If we can link the attack to Saddam I would say he is removed. I can't say how the people would react as I was maybe not even a year old at the time.

I would agree with the other posters. Assuming that the Kuwaitis manage to get away with the deceit. If not then there will be hell to pay with the actual people responsible.
Having let Saddam off the hook a couple of years before and believing he's responsible now there will be hell to pay and the US would be as determined to remove him as they were the Taliban after 2001. At this point as well and while the deception lasts their likely to get a more support from the rest of the world including at this point Russia and with less of a down-grading of US [and other] forces with the ending of the cold war there's going to be more forces available.
Saddam of course will deny everything and claim its a frame up - which for once it actually is. However he's likely to go down very quickly and its possible there might be a more serious attempt at reconstruction without the distractions of Afghanistan and the later economic problems.
