Interesting and reminds me of Toynbee's "A Study of History" of which I read the abridged version too many years ago. Some points I agree with but others are doubtful and he seems to contradict himself in the different descriptions of migrants. Also as with Toynbee's work I've always how doubts on how deterministic they tend to be denying any ability to change the predicted path. I do agree that a wider base for history education is needed but it would be very difficult to implementable, especially doing so directly without frequently being dominated by vested interests and 'pop' ideas of the moment.
