Pierre Sprey was/is an alternate history creator par excellence. The other author who fits this category is the United States Air Force.
PS. Alexander Kartveli was the author of and the hero behind the A-10. I did not know that for sure; until I checked this claim this evening. But then... it is the REPUBLIC A-10 Thunderbolt.

He, Mike Sparks, associates with lunatics and has a fixation on the M113 armored personnel carrier. He calls it the Gavin. No-one else calls it the Gavin. This is not a statement about Lazerpig, who is a rather sarcastic presenter and has some fun with the subject matter, it is an observation about Mike Sparks, who is not a con man like Spey was, but is a dysfunctional person, who has a set fantasy about the M113 as his core operating life principle. That is insane. |

We get a sample of Sprey. We get a sample of Sparks. We get a bit of Blactail. But then we have James Burton.
Here is the short version.
James Burton, "The Pentagon Wars" was and is a pack of lies.
The thing is; the US CODE mandates as a result of WWII experience, that weapons must be "proofed" as to function and survivability. This was an outgrowth of the "torpedo crisis". That does not mean the US still does goof it up, as the mandated testing of the LCS has demonstrated, hence the current search for its replacement.
