1964: LBJ's dead, John W. McCormack becomes acting president, having to face Goldwater. 1968: Humphrey vs. Nixon, we know that. 1972: Spiro Agnew'll probably beat McGovern. Which may result in a POTUS who actually is impeached. 1976: Ford is gone, Jimmy Carter is now challenging... Bob Dole. I'm not from the US, but I think Carter might win even bigger. I hope Reagan wins in 1982, not a big fan of Carter. |

I think you mean 1980. Plus given how disastrous Reagan was for the US, greatly increased national debt, much greater division socially and politically, criminal actions which further undermined belief in the government - apart from his own open opposition to government other than for the very rich of course  - and the initial taking of the Republican party into the morass its in currently I would have to disagree. A US that stayed liberal and with a respect for science and technology might have been a lot better off economically and environmentally in the present day. - That does assume of course that assorted vested interests didn't gain too much political power at a later point. |

That's what hi9s fans think and I know some right wingers claiming in the 1990's that the US arms build up "bankrupted the evil empire". However it, especially the 'Star Wars' debacle, also did a job on the US economy, coupled with his extensive social engineering to transfer resources from the bulk of the population to the very rich people and big businesses.

1980: Carter's dead, "Fritz" Mondale has to face Reagan like he did in 1984, result'll probably be the same
1984: Bush sr. vs. Mondale - Republican victory here as well
1988: Dukakis faces... Dan Quayle?! Better give Reagan a third term!
1992: Clinton vs. Quayle - at least here we'll get a democratic landslide.

If Henry A. Wallace is not available in 1940 - let's say the Lou Gehrig's disease that killed him in 1965 is early onset in an ATL, who will be FDR's VP for the term of office running from January 20, 1941 to January 20, 1945?

1996: Gore vs. Dole - not sure about this one.
2000/4: Cheney vs. Gore/Kerry - eh, Dick was the real POTUS after all.
2008: The first black candidate against the first female one! But Obama'd win even higher against Palin than McCain.
2012: Biden vs. Romney. Hard to tell, but I'd rather bet on Romney. If you have to choose between two white men, choose the more competent one.
2016: Hillary vs. Pence - as unpopular as she is with some people, she'll probably win.
2020: Pence vs. Biden - Now the saner guy from the republican ticket is in charge. Not too bad for them. Can he turn the tide?
