lordroel , I think your missing a 'not' there?
justiniano - Lordroel is right. It is bad manners to continually tag members and can be frustrating. [Having suffered from it at times myself]. As Lordroel has said earlier if people wish to respond they will do.

Also i forgot to say stevep , good you help me with my English but still have to point you towards Rule X: No Backseat Moderating. Let the Administrator (Lordroel) or a moderator (Inspector General) do the moderating. Backseat Moderating is when people who are not Moderators try to enforce the forum rules. Whenever you see a person breaking the rules, take advantage of the "Report this post to a moderator" link. Or simply IGNORE the offensive post(s) or thread.

OK I will try and remember that in future. I will say in my defence I wasn't aware I was seeking to enforce a rule but more stating an issue of good manners.

No problem, just a friendly reminder. If you ore any other members feel they are to tagged a lot in a thread by other members, just let me know and i can try to solve it.

I'll have a think about it over the weekend since you're commenting on my threads again. Do you have any input here?

Let members come to the thread themselves, that is not tagging them to get a respond and that is not quoting them when you see them online again.

I haven't given the matter any thought. Putting on my moderator hat, please stop: A.) Tagging people into threads unnecessarily B.) Digging up ~2 month old threads without adding something new, just in the attempt to search for commentary. If you are to bump one of your own threads, then there needs to be some new content or a different twist to justify it As matters stand, on what we can term a macro level, the nature of your inquiries often tends to what are the verges of general knowledge and interest. Fewer people will have the knowledge to comment on Turkish politics or Ethiopian economic history than can answer discussion of American politics or WW2 history. On a very small forum like this one, your chances are narrowed even further by the number of posters. As such, your available cohort is pretty small and can be 'dried out' by asking too much, too often/too quickly. The exception to this is Philippine stuff, as we have relatively plenty of posters from there. (Did Lordroel purchase advertising in The Manila Bulletin? )

A.) Tagging people into threads unnecessarily Isn't all tagging unnecessary?

Insofar as you've gone about it, yes. There may be times where tagging someone into a thread is necessary for other reasons, but not simply to try and drum up responses.

A.) Tagging people into threads unnecessarily Isn't all tagging unnecessary? Tagging members is not needed when you are also quoting a member ore there is not a lot of members posting in a thread.
