1950s LA kept and expanded its Subway system

Rather than bow down to the whims of greedy, car company pigs LA keeps its Subway system and expands it every decade

Just wondering what all the side-effects would be. As I have gone through LA a few times (it sucks)

Well shadow007 it would save the Toons from Judge Doom of Cloverleaf Industries plot to destroy Toontown with a machine fueled with dip to build a freeway full of attractions in its place and force people to drive it once he has the transit system decommissioned to control all the profits.

LA subway and streetcars system died do economic issue, corruption and lobbyism from Detroit.
General Motor, Firestone Tires and Standart Oil of California formed the National City Lines,
Those took over the Los Angeles Railway near bankruptcy and the Pacific Electric Railway in 1953
Now National City Lines was Bus company, with busses build by GM, tires from Firestone and fueld by Standart Oil...
And began to dismantle the electric streetcars system in US Cities.

here was issue that Pacific Electric Railway system was series of tunnels in L.A. and not yet a full Subway system in 1950s
while L.A. city council really looking into a MONORAIL system for L.A. In the end National City Lines won as cheaper options...

until 1973 the gas prise explode and L.A. start to build rapid rail transit system.

  Ah that explains some of Roger's behaviour.  Good job he never bit Bob Hoskins. [Seriously I know what you mean and suspect it was probably an auto-corrupt problem?]   As you say it was unlikely that the subway system would survive pressure from the motor industry and allies to crush it as a rival.  By ~45 the industry was probably too powerful to be stopped.
