Icelanders and Canadians rejoice! You KNOW why I like this saga? She is a hero.
Never mind that she is labeled a murderer and chicane. She was an entrepreneur and clever. And Helgy and Thormvald got what they deserved as Darwin winners. The rest of the story is that Murder Will Out and Leif kind of ostracized his sister. We have no idea if these murders happened or if a story teller took up a jealous rumor and ran with it. I tend to think Helgy and Thormvald got good press. The raid's success was 100% due to that woman's ability and not due to any of the three primary nincompoops involved. We know that much from the main Vinland sagas and the archeology.
