Recently some friend who knows I'm into history lent me this docu. It's based on Himmler's private letters. And that of the people close to him, like his wife Marga and his daughter Gudrun (the one who manages to be both an old and a new nazi, somehow, so to speak).
(Theoretically the GIs who occupied his house in 1945 were supposed to deliver all these documents, but in practice they had been sold to collectors. Took some time until director Vanessa Lapa could make her movie about them.)
Some little details make it... like Himmler sometimes signing his letters "Dein böser Mann". His daughter having a kid's handwriting at 15 still. Or his mistress calling him "König Heinrich" (what with him believing to be a reincarnation of HREmperor Heinrich I!)
It was interesting, revealing, I can recommend it.
