Having finished Archaologist Lisbet Imer's book "Danmarks Runsten" Danish Runestones of Viking age comprising the later Kingdom, Slesvig, Scania, Halland, Blekinga, Smaaland, West and East Götaland and some from Sweden - I have compiled the names mentioned with a few notes - Female and Male names. Book isn't translated.

Well there have so far not been found a Runestone with BO engraved.

They are. Should have chosen different playing pieces.




Take the 1st stone of the top row from the left to right and mate with the 4th stone left to right and spell "BO".

Yes I thought so but I replied to there not having been found a runestone with the name "Bo" chiseled into it. The name's not been found and I have never heard of amber pieces with runic inscriptions though runes were inscribed on a lot of implements and weapons. Still no Bo.

Scandinavian names were written in runic alphabet - now the oldest such inscription have been found on a knifeblade in a burial close to Odense, major city of Fyn, in the center of Denmarks.
Inscription is dated to 2000 YBP - around 1 AD making it older than the privious find in Norway which was dated to in the interval 1-250 AD. Hirila possibly meaning Little Sword is inscribed on the blade as reported by DR -should they when all the work is done decide to date to Early Roman Iron Age (Denmark) we'd just share the dating with the Norwegians!
