My family and I used to watch "Growing Pains" when it was originally on ABC. RIP Alan Thicke.
Not much changes with the show, but instead, the theme song "As Long As We Got Each Other" doesn't change. In season 1, it was sung by BJ Thomas. Then in season 2, they added Jennifer Warnes. Originally in seasons 3 and 4, they introduced a different version of the song sung by BJ Thomas and Dusty Springfield. Then in season 5, they returned to the Thomas/Warnes version but slightly different. Then in season 6, they introduced an a cappella version of the theme song. In season 7, they once again restored the Thomas/Warnes version of the theme, used it for most of the season, for the last few episodes brought back that a cappella version of the theme song.
But instead, this happens:
Season 1–They still use the BJ Thomas solo version.
Season 2–They introduce the Thomas/Warnes version and continue using it in seasons 3 and 4.
Season 5–The slightly truncated version of the Thomas/Warnes version is still introduced. And it's used for the rest of the series including all of seasons 6 and 7.
If you don't know what I'm talking about here you go.

Season 5:
Another change with "Growing Pains" is the executive producers Dan Guntzelman, Mike Sullivan and Steve Marshall don't leave the show after season 6. Instead, they're still on the show for the 7th season. Originally, they left the show because Kirk Cameron did something really stupid and called up the then-president of ABC Bob Iger and said they were pornographers. But instead, that doesn't happen. They don't leave the show. Not that it really matters because ABC still cancels "Growing Pains" due to falling ratings.
