Can the EU survive if Barnier's initial stance turns out to be their [non-]negotiation position? The stance that Britain can only accept an even worse position than it has already is likely to cause further outrage in Britain. As is his dictatorial stance that Britain must jump through any loops the EU sets and have no say itself.
If the EU insists on an hard Brexit and a trade war as they seemed determined to do how much disruption and discord will it prompt in the EU? It will be tough on Britain as well but is likely to considerably increase the hostility towards the EU in Britain.
Or do you think this is just an initial bargaining position and if the British government stands firm the EU will be willing to negotiate rather than continue trying to dictate?

As you can probably tell I'm less than impressed with this arrogant idiot expressing such contempt for Britain!

If things go as they are going in the European union the United kingdom will not have to worry about a trade war with the EU as there will be no EU to compete with.

To be honest I have seen so many People predicting the end of the EU so often that I have stopped taking it seriously. It didn't collapse during the 2008 economic crisis and has survived every crisis since then, what has Brexit got that Greece didn't try?

It didn't collapse during the 2008 economic crisis and has survived every crisis since then, what has Brexit got that Greece didn't try? Eurowatch 2008 and the Greece crisis didn't destroy the EU but they did weaken it, as has the general trend for ignoring public opinion in favour of doctrine, which is why there's so much unrest across the western world. A messy and bitter Britexit may not kill it but it will be another serious shock. Especially given Barnier and others in the EU seems intent on making it so. Both because Britain is a sizeable economic zone and because loss of free access with it - if he gets his way - will cause not only economic disruption but also discontent elsewhere in the continent.
