Similar to the version on AH.com, this thread is for discussing any non-frivolous ASB ideas that people here would like to share and talk about.
I hope this helps,

Give me some time, i need to think what i can post here. It’s cool; no rush. But seeing as that’s the case, I suppose I should start us off: ‘2011 US South To 1861’—on the precipice of when the Civil War is to commence.

Indeed, it does. Whether it will still opt to form its own government and secede is likely up for debate (though for different reasons than its downtimer counterpart would've offered). But it's unquestionable that the Northern States would get crushed in a war with the newfound South. And the contest would be a damned short one.

But 2011 South is not 1861 South, so why would it fight the North, but then again, 2011 South is as alien to 1861 North that it might feel threaten by the new arrival.

Maybe the South would go to war because, similar to as it true in Crunch Buttsteak's A Golden Island to the West TL, they couldn't stand living under the laws and values imposed by a nation that's one-hundred-and-fifty years behind the times.
Plus, the South has the population needed to sweep the electorate in terms of voting, so maybe Capitol Hill will see reason to let them leave anyway.

But as always as i say, both 1861 North and 2011 South are so apart, they can be considered independent countries from each other, so no war would be needed.

What if 2011 South showed Abe that they are not the same as 1861 South, i think Abe will see no other choice to change his mind and come to the realization, this is not a slave holding South, this is a South with more democratic freedom than even 1861 North has.

Fair enough. The problem, though, is that maybe this uptimer South is too liberal for the 19th-Century North. Women are allowed to vote, racial minorities are treated as more or less equal to whites, and a host of business regulations that are more or less nonexistent in 1860-something are regarded as common practice. In fact, it seems that the roles have been reversed here, with the South as the egalitarian and industrialized region of the country, and the North the comparatively backwards and bigoted one.

Very true. In this case would it be the north, now demographically inferior, that would seek to secede and the south that might seek to maintain the union by force and impose 21stC values on the north? Also how strongly might they respond to events elsewhere in the world? Such as slavery in Cuba and Brazil as well as much of Africa and the Arab world, imperialism, the status of China, etc. If nothing else I think if Napoleon III still tries his OTL intervention in Mexico he's likely to get a very unpleasant surprise.

‘2001 US To 1941’—right on December 8th (which is when FDR’s America declared war on Japan), to be precise.

How about Ulthuan, the High Elf homeland in Warhammer Fantasy appears in mid-Atlantic in 1492AD. It is techtonically stable but the dragons are asleep and Magic is greatly reduced in power. The High Elves no longer have to deal with their dark brethren, the forces of chaos and assorted other threats such as the Norse, Undead and the like but do have to handle medieval Europe as it explores westwards.

Humankind is not going to miss this big island then.
