That's sadly and definitively the point, even if we didn't wrote a lot about Central America in this TL.

Chapter 64: Movement is Life
Date: October 21, 2018 (Z-Day + 4) Location: San Diego, California
A stream of cars and thousands of people move towards salvation, which is the airport, the seaport, and the naval base. In this mass exodus of terrified people, it has attracted both Infected to gather around what its brain called as “food.” Not only that, some rioters, criminals, and thugs seemed to have taken advantage of the chaos. There were cases of people being shot, stabbed, beaten-up, robbed for their supplies, or even forced to “sell” themselves for supposed “salvation.” It was equivalent to every scumbag of society exerting their worse on an already crumbling society. The authorities did what they could to arrest those hampering evacuation efforts, but have been diverted from defensive point to defensive point. It was clear San Diego had to be abandoned sooner or later due to the lack of supplies and increasing horde attacks. ****************** “We just got out there in time.” I said.
“So the Infected were already in the Civic Center?” Mike asked.
“Possible, people could hide their bites. Or maybe it was just a riot.” Jules replied. “I don’t want to see how ugly this is.”
“It already is, Frenchie.” Gabrielle replied. “I’d rather be in a ship than all with those corpses in the streets.”
I was driving the car, following the SWAT van and the SUV along with the streams of cars and people on the road. We drove for a long time, eventually passing by the the USS Midway aircraft carrier. The four of us in the pick-up truck looked towards the massive carrier that is now currently a museum ship.
“Would you look at that, isn’t she beautiful?” Jules asked.
“Yeah, I’ve been there once.” Mike replied.
“My friend has been here too.” I added.
“Wouldn’t it serve better as a refugee center? Just knock-out its moorings? The Infected can’t climb over it anyways.” Gabrielle added.
“Could be, but technically it is.” I said, looking at the streams of people being herded at the carrier’s flight deck as SH-60 Seahawks, CH-53 Stallions, and civilian choppers seem to be flying back and forth from the direction of the bay. The use of civilian choppers must mean the situation is becoming more and more desperate.
“Can we try our luck there?”
“No, we should just head to the base. It’s the same place everywhere…”
I kept my eyes on the road with the slow-moving stream of vehicles and people heading over to points-of-evacuation off this Infected land. ****************** "We're almost there Angela." Spencer said, one hand on the wheel and the other holding Angela's hand.
"Just a few more miles then salvation." ****************** USS Makin Island (LHD-8) Currently moored at Naval Station San Diego
A line of Marines wait to be deployed on the landing bay of the amphibious assault vehicle. RHIBs[1], LCUs [2], LAV-25s and AAV7s lie idly as mechanics check its fuel, parts, and ammunition whilst sailors ran back and forth delivering supplies to fill in the gaps of missing or killed personnel due to the outbreak. The ship was not yet open for civilian refugees yet, as the captain and the commanding officer had not recieved orders from the adimiral of the CINCPACFLT.
The young Marine, LCpl. Allen, stands awaiting orders. Him and his squad of Marines withdrew here after they were routed from every fallback point. His bestfriends Sanchez and Phillips made it here too, but other Marines were KIA or went missing as more inches of the city fell to the Infected.
The XO then announced on the intercomm.
“Attention everyone. Our ship the Makin Island is to remain as the last ship to accept refugees. We have recieved orders from the Pacific Fleet to pull-out in a few hours as it remains too dangerous for us to stay here. All hands must now report to battles stations. The Marines will take up defensive positions around the dock while refugees will be carefully screened. All Infected will be SHOT on sight while those bitten but not yet turned will be held in a separate area where they will be given their last rites with their relatives before putting them down. ZERO tolerance policy on Infected aboard this ship. I repeat, we have ZERO tolerance for any Infected on this ship. Every life we save matters. Now let’s give those bastards hell. Good luck sailors and Marines. XO out.”
“You heard the man, let’s go!” The highest ranking Marine officer said.
“OORAH Marines!”
The Marines then exited the bay and began forming up temporary barricades using concrete, barbed wires, and machine gun nests backed by 2 LAV-25s and one AAV7. A single file was created for the refugees to be accepted while Navy Corpsman with Navy EOD personnel backed by K-9 units took place to be ready to screen refugees.
Trevor silently prayed that his friend Spencer was nearby or already made it somewhere safe. ****************** Author's Notes: The title of this chapter is a reference to Brad Pitt's line in World War Z. I also based some of this chapter on Firemanjim's The Last Alarm - Book One Chapter 45 and Chapter 47. [1] RHIB - Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat [2] LCU - Landing Craft Utility

Chapter 65: CameroneDate: October 21, 2018 (Z-Day+3; Local Hour: 2:45 PM) Location: Paris Orly International Airport-île de France"Est que tu veux une cigarette, mon vieux? (Do you want a smoke?)" asked the Legionnaire with a strong Polish Accent. "Non, et puis de toute façon, c'est mauvais pour la santé" answered back the 26yrs old Gardien de la Paix Fabrice Cayrou with a smile despite his lack of sleep for 4 nights. (No, it's bad for health)." "Hahaha, mauvais pour la santé, je crois bien que d'autres sont en plus mauvaise forme que toi. [laughs] (I believe that a lot of people are in a poorest health than you)." The Polish legionnaire said with some humor. "Puisque nous en sommes là, c'est une habitude pour la Légion de refaire Camerone tout les siècles? (Well, is it an Habit to fight again Camerone every Century for Legion?)" "Oczywiście (Of course, it is)" This kind of conversation can be easily heared by thousands of Paris refugees but also by foreign tourists that tried to escape the Paris nightmare by the only way they can: the Paris-Orly International Airport and Charles de Gaulle International Airport. This is a kind of surrealistic scene. A mass of scared people trying to obtain a pass or something else for getting aboard one of the few airplane still on tarmac. Three days after initial outbreak and millions of deaths after, the airport defens was defended by a bunch of Légionaires, French Army soldiers from CBRN defense corps, scattered survivors of Police Nationale and from local security units. They still held despite a giant influx of refugees and Infected, a half burned piles of bodies blocked the access from Highway 6B bombed during the last night by French Air Force aircraft. The immediate proximity of airport area was massively invaded by a huge wave of civilians trying to make their way into a cars and emergencies blockades maze. This is a nigtmarish wiew of what happened to one of the most advanced countries in the world. Fabrice Cayrou never smoked and he did not want try it now. Maybe he is still thinking that he will survive or maybe he is so just convicted that Death is so close that changing his habits would be like to accept his defeat. He did know, but he's a lucky man. After all who will bet on young policeman that leave the Police Academy a year ago and affected to Paris? He just avoided death so much in only three days that he haven't the time to analyse itself what happened. All justice, law and order have disappeared with the emergence of those flesh-eating monsters, those Ghoules? (whatever the name of those creatures were). He saw a man with a half-ripped head cut in half the throat of a CRS despite rubber balls and teargas. Maybe it's just the apocalypse? "Arrête de rêver et concentre toi plutôt sur les tests de dépistage. On doit faire un tri entre les infectés et les sains. (stop dreaming and watch screening test, we had to make a sorting between infected and healty)." He said as held a laser thermometer. The same that Airport personnel received this training during Ebola Crisis in 2014. Tthe man measured a woman temperature and carefully step back as he is making signs to a Hamzat suit soldier. "Putain, encore un autre (Fuck, an another one!)" The soldier pushes the woman into an another piece. "Ne touchez pas à me femme, bande de salauds (don't touch my wife, assholes)!" Angrily yelled a 60 year-old man. "Monsieur, reculez s'il vous plait, maintenant (Sir, please stay back now)!" says Fabrice with a calm and soft voice. The husband don't listen him and pushes him with a kick... "Putain de Merde (Holy Shit) ...Arrêtez vous maintenant (Stop Now)!" "N'ouvrez pas ces putains de portes" (don't open this fucking door)!" The noise of a FAMAS shooting is followed by the fall of a man, not so far from the room where Infected people are put. Welcome to France, 2018. ******************** Author Notes: - Written by ukron- The Battle of Camerone was en epic battle fought by FFL (French Foreign Legion) during French Intervention In Mexico (in 1860s), every year, Légionnaires are celebrating the heroic death of Captain Danjou and his team during an Hacienda defense, this is the French "Alamo". - CRS stands for Compagnies républicaines de sécurité, a French Police Reserve and Anti-Riots/Crowd Controls Units. - French Gov invests a lot into Airport security against new diseases, especially after the 2003 SARS and 2013 Middle Eastern MERS syndrome (a lot of French Muslims go to Mecca every year).

Chapter 66: Everyone Has The Same Idea Date: October 21, 2018 (Z-Day + 4) Location: San Diego, California
Traffic...traffic everywhere. I banged the dashboard in frustration. If it would be better leaving this now. It was an endless stream of terrified refugees going to the safety of the Pacific Ocean. Sigh, if only we could make it somewhere. I said to myself as I watched the people bringing with them luggages and backpacks. Some even had only a stick and garbage bag full of clothes as their only luggage. It's the same everywhere I suppose. In a survival scenario, we are not the only one with the same idea.
"Jesus Christ, we'll never make it on time." I cursed.
"Putain!" Jules cursed in French.
Above, a police chopper hovered and announced on the megaphone that everyone was to stay in their vehicles. However nobody listened.
Up ahead there were crowds of angry people torching police cars and throwing bricks. The police seemed to have pulled out of the sector. Another block had fallen to disorder. The police just seemed to give up on maintaining order and now are just hauling to save their own asses. I don't blame them though.
"We have a mob on our hands."
Everyone got their weapons.
"We're gonna plow through the crowd." One of the people said over the radio.
"Dude this is crazy." I replied.
"This is the only way to head to the naval base." The reply came over the radio.
The thought made me sick. We were gonna run over rioters if don't get the fuck out of our way. But it's them or us and the rioters were not being cooperative.
"Get your guns ready." I told Mike Jules, and Gabrielle. I took my P226 out in case I need to shoot out of the driver's window. Blaring the horn, I stepped on the pedal and charged through the crowd. The rioters dispersed at the sight of the moving vehicle. However there were those who didn't get in the way on time. I could hear bones crack and truth be told, I did cringe in horror. This is the first time I ran over a human being or rather alive human beings but this was an act of self-defense. Some rioters who decided to retaliate began to throw bricks and bottles at us. The Frenchman poked his rifle and fired at them back. Mike and Gabrielle did the same. The sound of gunfire was enough to scare the others in thinking. We drove the sea of people and later we could see a clearing.
But at that moment, someone threw a firebomb on the front of the windshield. I could not see where I was driving since the flames were blocking my view. I frantically turned the steering wheel and herd the thump of running over a few rioters. I would soon loose control of the pickup truck and crash to the side of a storefront, the bumper hitting all the way to the front. The airbag opened before I could hit my face on the steering wheel, which was great because I did not need a nosebleed and broken teeth to begin with. Jules, Mike, and Gabrielle were trying to recover, taking out their guns and unbuckling their seatbelts.
"We gotta move, now!" Jules yelled.
The others up ahead in their vehicles probably knew of our situation. They were roughly 25 meters away. I got to my feet and unslung my M4. Over the street, I could hear the crowds of rioters.
"They're immobile! Get them."
"Kill the motherfuckers and get their stuff!" One of the looters cried out.
"Shit, they're coming." I said.
"Smoke them if you have to." Mike replied.
"I never shot someone before..." Gabrielle said.
"Me too but this is necessary." I replied.
The crowd was coming. We were gonna make a run for the vehicles. The crowd was crying for our blood. We not gonna let them have it. All four of us then pointed our guns to street as the angry mob was beginning to swarm on us as we would make a retreat to the vehicles our companions were in. *********** Author's Notes: - Major revamp here. Instead of being ambushed by looters in the original draft, I changed it to an angry mob as a reference to that scene in War of the Worlds (2005) where in Tom Cruise and his son and daughter get swarmed by angry desperate people.

Intermission #11 (2): Photos from China and North Korea days before Z-DayHere are some photos of increased police and military pressence in the northeastern region of China bordering North Korea. The area is widely believed to be the ground zero of the Killer Virus Pandemic that began in October 2018. The most interesting and probable theory is that the virus is a mutation of rabies that possibly crossed from canines to humans, though no evidence of this has been proven. What can be said was that North Korean refugees may have brought the virus to China via the border and started outbreaks from there, which were brutally suppressed by the People's Liberation Army, the People's Armed Police, the Public Security Bureau, and the Ministry of State Security. Despite, the virus managed to emerged in different parts of the world as it is accepted that Chinese travelers hid their bites and reanimated elsewhere. Chinese police officers patrolling Dandong, a Chinese city on the banks of the Yalu River near the border with North Korea, on October 3, 2018. PLA on the Sino-Korean border, October 4, 2018. North Korean refugees being rescued by PLA soldiers. Most of the refugees stated that North Korea has fallen to a disease that turns people into "homicidal cannibals" though this information was widely suppressed by Chinese and North Korean state media. However, some of the refugees hid their infections and are believed to have started outbreaks within northeastern China.

Troubled Waters - New Orleans (LA) Part 5: Escape from Reality
Date: October 18,2018 (Z-Day+1; 2:58 AM) Location: Loyola Avenue (Defense Perimeter code-named Charlie) New Orleans, Louisiana"How do you manage to survive without weapons or even a car?" asked a militiaman to Karpov. "I had some experience about how to survive into a war zone, you know Grozny in Chechnya. This was a nightmarish situation and I have always hoped to never see it again. "Don't you think it's funny to meet a Red Army Veteran in this apocalypse?" answered back the American with a point of irony. "Da, this is insane like a God intervention or something like that." The Russian replied. Karpov is just too much shocked by what he have seen those last 2 hours: torn apart limbs, ambulant bodies without arms and legs, broken cars where drivers were half eaten, half cut in two, and so much more. Even the dark reminds of Chechenya and Grozny seemed so pale to that. New Orleans have been placed by CDC and FEMA as "Level 5 Area". This meant that the city is strucked by a massive and never seen huge outbreak. Until the end of "Killer virus pandemic", nobody will understand how this regional city can have been hit so hard. In fact at this moment nobody (and especially Karpov) knows that the virus was brought to city by a lawyer that came to home after an exhausted trip in Texas. The American militiaman seems to be a 30yrs old nice guy, too young for being hardened by life but no so young for being naive. "I just hope that they can evac everyone on Mercedes Benz Stadium. My girlfriend Tracy is here with her family, and have you a familly?" "Oh you know, my father was killed in Afghanistan before I grew up. He was in the Spetsnaz when his helicopter was destroyed by an U.S.-made Stinger missile. That was back then in 1986." The American seems a litte bit unconfortable with this. "My wife broke up around 2000s but at least I have my daughter Olga, she is here for wedding this asshole." Karpov replied. Hmmm....i guess that's why you hate us Americans". "I don't hate the American people. I hate the politicians in Washington. But I am sure that there is more important thing to do now than hate." The Russian replied. "I repeat enemy contact at Mercedes Stadium! They overrun us....(gunfire)...we can't (screams and gunfire)...holy shit..." The radio picked up before abruptly cutting. Everyone had a look of horror in their face. "What the fuck? The enemy have broken our lines, we need to move now in order to support them. Let's go guys!" says Lt. Meyers. "Tracy..." the young American said, thinking about his girlfriend and her family. "Go, go ...and welcome with us, Russkie." says Meyers as he lent an M9 Pistol to Karpov. "I guess that you know how to use it" "This is a stupid question. Of course, you know it but I have hope that you would give me a .44 magnum revovler because we are in a fucking cowboy movie." The Russian joked.

Chapter 67: The Final Obstacle
Date: October 21, 2018 (Z-Day + 4) Location: San Diego, California
We our backpacks and heavy equipment, we then ran towards the rest of our companions. I could feel the mob behind us, angry and frustrated.
"Motherfuckers." I said.
We then fired warning shots in the air but the crowd continued surging. Behind them was just an unorganized riot. Another excuse to loot and plunder everything.
Four hooded guys came rushing with crowbars and tomahawks. I aimed my M4 at them hopefully to deter them. They kept going. Again, the thought of shooting them made me feel sick. However I had to do it. Four shots to the chest, they went down. I wasn't sure if they were dead or dying. The mob was not deterred by the seeing their comrades getting shot. It's no doubt many civilians and police officers were probably killed by this angry mob. They didn't care for the lives. Unknown to them, I could see some Infected hiding among their ranks, grabbing any unlucky looter and tearing them apart. Some of the rioters who had sense engaged the Infected but virtually at this point some could have hid their bites and reanimate in the crowd. If only they vented their rage at the Infected...
"Ah fuck it, shoot them!" Mike yelled, aiming his M4 CQB at the approaching ones. They went down.
"Oh God, oh God..." Gabrielle muttered, firing small bursts from her MP5. Her shots went wild, hitting some of the rioters in the chest and the legs. If she did not kill them outright, some of them were incapacitated. Those who could not move were trampled by the angry crowd who had no regards for human life. This was pure panic and rage does to people. It makes them much scarier and dangerous than the Infected.
The vehicles were just 10 to 20 meters away but it felt like forever. It was the run of my life. We were no longer running away from the Infected but a horde of angry rioters that just want to destroy what normal is left of this word. It was a difficult to run with a heavy backpack and a JPC vest. Video games and movies made it look so easy but the reality is vastly different.
As we approached a makeshift barricade, I then dropped the magazine and insert a fresh one. The crowd were still trying to chase us and my three other friends mowed them down.
"Changing mag!" Jules yelled. "Cover me."
"Gotcha." Mike replied.
"Shit, it's jammed." Gabrielle shouted, trying to clear the jam in her SMG.
"Forget it, let's run!" I said.
She then slings her MP5 and switches to her pistol. Unknown to us however, the rioters stopped chasing us. The guys with guns in the crowd, mainly armed with pistols, improvised zip guns and some stolen M4s and M16s, started taking potshots at us.
"Take cover!" I said, diving down for cover and trying to keep my head down while slowly retreating.
The veteran Jim then came coming running for us, aiming his M4 at the crowd.
"Come on kids, let's go!" He yelled.
Unknown to us however, some of the looters climbed the buildings were shooting us. We returned fire. All of sudden I felt a seething pain in the back of my left shoulder. I then realized I was shot before I fell to the ground. I then took out of my pistol, aiming towards the rooftops. I could smell the blood and I had never been so terrified in my whole life.
"Oh no Gill!" Gabrielle shouted. "He's been shot."
Jules, Mike, and Gabrielle then dragged me to the car as I was in state of bewilderment. I saw her unsling my M4 from my body and fire some shots at the crowd. She was having a struggled with its kickback. She didn't care. She needed to cover my friends dragging me to the car. ************************* "Get him out of here!" Jim shouted, shooting the looters at the rooftop. They all went down. They were no match for the Texan's military experience. However to his left, there were a group of delinquents about to charge at him with melee weapons. He shot them down. Unknown to him however, one looter managed to slip behind the Texan and hit him hard in the head with a cinderblock. He yelled in pain but quickly recovered and tackled the punk.
He beat the thug up. The young delingquent was also no match for the Texan's build. He was beaten to a bloody pulp in the heat of the moment.
Unfortunately, there were two Infected nearby.
One of the Infected came stumbling. One fell to its feet and fell on near Jim's right leg. Before the Texan could react, the creature sank its teeth into his leg, causing him to scream in pain. Blood came out of the The other one fell right on the looter he just beaten up and begin biting through. He forgot he had a sidearm due to the heat of the moment, so he unholstered it and shot the Infected in the face before turning to the next Infected and shooting both the creature and the looter that got bitten.
The rest of the survivors came and took him. They placed a tourniquet on the wound and dragged the wounded Texan back to the car and sped off. The angry crowd continued to chase but the speed of the vehicles made them unable to do so. ************************* "Leave me be, it's too late for me." Jim said as he began to turn his handgun into his head.
"No, don't!" Tamara cried out.
"What if we cut the infected part out?" The girl asked. "I mean only his lower right leg has been bitten, perhaps if we do it now, we can prevent the spread of the virus."
It was a 50-50 chance. After all, they did not know how far the virus could have traveled in his bloodstream. But they had to act now if they wanted to save this Texan. The car did not provide ample space to for a battlefield treatment. The survivors held him down and placed a towel on his mouth to muffle the screams.
"Jim, this will hurt but you know you may have a chance of survival right?" Keith added.
The Texan nodded. With one swift stroke, Nathan brought the blade down and the leg separated. Jim yelled before passing out. Blood was now gushing out of the wound. The vehicle's seats were stained with blood.
"Quick, put pressure in it!"
"I have a lighter." Nathan said. He then burned the wound so that Jim will not bleed out. He then wrapped the amputated leg in some cloth. They could not just throw it out the window. They'll have to deal with it later. *************************** In the same vehicle, laid also their other wounded friend.
"It's alright. You're gonna be alright. We're heading to the naval base now!" Mike screamed.
"Oh no, Gill. Don't go, stay with us, please!" Gabrielle said as she cried.
"Put pressure on the wound!
The van then sped through the barricade and drove full speed to the base. *************************** So this is how it feels to get shot. There goes my dreams of seeing the world.
My life then flashed behind my very eyes. From the time I was a kid during the innocent days of the early 2000s to the time I saw 9/11 on TV when I was five to my fun childhood moments to the time I grew up in high school. Suddenly, I saw the memories of college from first year all the way to fourth year. A scene then played of the time I joined USC-Mountaineers; the day I met Gabrielle and also the time I hiked with her on that rainy January Sunday afternoon. And then it cuts to a scene where I marched on stage where I received my diploma on the day I graduated in college, followed by summer, and then meeting Kimberly and several others in the bar called Sentral. Finally it cuts to a scene where I was in medical school. Funny thing, the ten-months of Hell flashed right before me in a matter of five seconds before it switches again to the fun run and my only send-off date with Kimberly then finally the last few days before Z-Day.
"Am I gonna die?" I asked myself.
"No, I cannot die yet. Lord, please give me another chance." I thought.
"It's alright. You're gonna be alright. We're heading to the naval base now!" Mike screamed at my face as I saw my vision constantly shifting.
"Oh no, Gill. Don't go, stay with us, please!" Gabrielle said as she cried.
"Put pressure on the wound!"
Time just felt really slow and intense as the van sped as fast it could on the way to the naval base. I didn't know if I was gonna make it or not but I prayed to God that I would make it. I am only 22. I am too young to die.
"You're gonna be alright." Mike repeated and reassured me as became more lightheaded. ******************** Author's Notes: This is it, we are approaching the climax. Stay tuned for more. Yes, it's awkward I let my OC get shot but yeah this story needs plot twists because anything can happen. Took me an hour or more to revamp it from the original draft.

Chapter 68: Remission?Date: October 24, 2018 (Z-Day + 7) Location: RAF Manston Airfield[1] - USAF and RAF emergency Command for Southern England. Northeast of Kent, England, United Kingdom"This is an emergency broadcast from BBC service....Latest report coming from Angola, local armed forces have sucessfuly retreated and consolidated positions in the northern Cabinda enclave. Local Governor Eugénio Laborinho have express his respect to loyal members of Army and Police that have protected civilians. The following days will see a joint operation between Angolan Armed Forces and Namibian Army in order to establish safe zones in Cunene district. Others reports from Africa as we had previously learned the emergency government of South Africa have denied all military operations in in the south Botswana. The Botswana head of state Ian Khama have called South African response "a lie", he further declared that South Africans search by a way for invading non-infected territories. In China, the transitional council established after the failed "coup d'état" have met Taiwanese and U.S. officials aboard the USS Blue Ridge. It's now clear that Chinese have retreat all ships from Taiwan Strait after the U.S. threatened to use nuclear weapons. Still no confirmation about a supposed nuclear explosion in Central China last week. Detailled report about massive retreat of IDF from Gaza, it's now confirmed that Israel gov have finally obtainned a cease-fire with Hamas and local Palestinian organizations the time to clean and secure Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem from wawes of Infected coming from the now desolated Jordan. In Russia, witness reports of mass utilization of napalm and incendiary bombs and artillery not so far of Perm, it's unclear if Infected swarms and/or refugees convoys have been targeted." "Please, for Christ's sake, can't you stop a second" asks USAF sergeant Micheal O'Leary as he holds his MP5. "We need to keep this airfield open, not to listen this fucking radio. Hmm....This airport will be a fucking head of the bridge for all boys in order to retake this country." "Sorry sarge, permission to speak freely sir?" answered Private Marlon. The Sergeant nodded in response. "I think you are a way too optimistic. Of course we need to hope for the best but I guess that we should prepare to the worst. All western and eastern coasts of the U.S. are just a hellzone and Europe looks like a WWI battlefield." "Nah, I am optimistic private. A bunch of cannibalistic living dead can't match against Humanity, especially this almighty U.S." "I hope you are right Sarge." ************* Author's Notes: Written by ukron. Note that the story will have time-gaps. [1] RAF Manston actually closed in 1999 and the airfield was amalgamated with Kent International Airport. Remainder of site retained by the MOD as the Fire Service Central Training Establishment which subsequently became the Defence Fire Training and Development Centre. In March 2017, RAF Manston became the HQ for the 3rd battalion Princess of Wales Royal Regiment (PWRR).

Chapter 69: No se puede escapar (This is an update of Chapter 43: The World is Dying and a focus on international response a week after Z-Day) *********************** Date: October 19, 2018 (Z-Day +2) Location: Varadero, CubaThe awfull smell of half-burned and half-drowned corpses might turn the private's stomachs but duty is duty and those "gringos" deserves their death, right ? But no one want to be eater alive by muertos or by sharks or even burned down by Cuban Navy shells fired on their smalls and rusty ships. The reassuring silhouette of a frigate is the true sign of victory over imperialist but those imperialists were disarmed. They aren't even militiamen; just people trying to found a refuge. Thought Private Frias as he is pilling bodies up in order, but this young conscript wasn''t so carefull as he didn't see the slow movement of one of this corpses. As he veered over the burning remains of the "U.S. boat people", he thought how bad it must be up in the imperialist paradise of the so-called America. The situation must be that bad as thousands of ships, from mighty tankers and cargo ships to fishing boats and yatchs to even makeshift rafts made out of wood and other light materials were making their way down to Cuban and the rest of Caribbean[1]. He eyed the floating corpses. They were men, women, children, the elderly, and even the handicapped. Frias did not want to murder these people but orders were orders. Cuba would not accept any refugees. "Be carefull and don't touch them without a protective suit." said one of the "doctores". They seems so afraid about this virus...it's not like a common cold, it's something worst that kill people and make them moving again. Frias pondered. How God can let's something like that happened? Even in a communist country, Catholicism is still important for a large part of population. It was part of the Cuban culture, dating back to the days of the Spanish Empire. "But where is this corpse?, hmmm" The rotten corpse of a Florida Bussiness man infected by virus during this evacuation of Miami will be the Virus "trojan horse " for reaching Cuba. ************************************* Date: October 23, 2018 (Z-Day +6) Location: Palace of The Revolution La Havane, CubaPeople are running in screams and panic as the two MiG-21 "Fishbeds" coming from San Juliàn Air Base had reach Mach 1 over the now overrun city. Buildings and cars kept on burning as the two aircraft dropped bombs over a large avenue. "Hmm...we should evacuate now, we can't wait.." says Raùl Castro as he is watching the burned down city. "We had lost contact with security group of President Canel, we presumed that their helicopter had crash..." "How?" "They had been probably infected..Señor " "A Russian warship is waiting for us but we need to leave the Palace now!" BRRRAAAAMM, a long but close RPK machine gun fire chattered into the air. The steady gunfire meant the muertos were probably getting closer. "We have security breaches, they are coming from everywhere!" "Where is this dammed helicopter, capitan?" "We don't know sir but they must be here in some minutes, we need to evacuate you to the roof!" Soon after, the ammunition run out and the defenders were overwhelmed. A large group of infected have killed the last guardians and are coming for eating the last Castro....there won't be any helicopter. ************************************* Author's Notes: Written by ukron[1] A reference of the script of Resident Evil: Extinction, originally titled "Afterlife" which mentions about the Cuban Navy sinking refugee boats from America.
