Not technical details but then I don't need to. My point is that any such 'leak' of information as you suggest in the present case - unless it is a capacity that they already believe the USN already has - is a problem for the suggested enemy state/s.
You should be aware that any information that confirms limits and characteristics is valuable to an enemy. We should not have revealed that we could track submarines by seismograph in 2000 but not identify them. This latest mistake allows the Chinese to figure out threshold detection sensitivity and how to defeat it.
I'm also aware that incomplete information can be misleading and present the 'enemy' with some serious dilemmas.

Post Mortem.
How 1990 SOSUS works. And that explains WHY you DO NOT reveal what you could do today.

Why did OCEANGATE operate out of Canada? Because the Canadian government had no legal framework to enforce compliance with basic engineering standards. There is a REASON the USG has NISTI. It is not much, but it is there and it would have red-flagged, did red-flag the owners of OCEANGATE.

The Chinese have a new submarine.
The Chinese submarine was spotted in the Yangtze River.
This is a very small coastal submarine. Why build it?
a. Experimental? Minelayer? b. Training submarine? c. Special forces? Where would it be used? d. Littoral combat waters sea fighters? Lithium battery banks. That makes sense. The Chinese would have a mission requirement for it.

Admiral Boorda should have been breaking rocks. Our sonarman has one thing correct. We need a naval arsenal and seven shipyards. That is the hidden reason we have stood up AUKUS. Australia is building us our new capacity to repair and maintain. You will also notice in the recent news that Japan and India have joined the queue.
Still want the standby yards stood up.
