To America at the time, of course. If and when he gets his bearings in order (i.e. financial stability and somewhere to stay), I wonder if he'd join the hippie-dippie crowd that was protesting the Vietnam War and championing the Sexual Revolution at the time. Heh, maybe he'd become one of its token "cool old guys" in the process. So we have a man wearing a boot who know many years of future events, that is going to be fun to see. Oh, yes. It may be in question as to whether his future knowledge is relevant, though, due to the butterfly effect of this PoD that has over fifty years to create a rather different 2019+. Though he'd have to do so as a joke, I wonder if he might try running for POTUS in 1968 or the next few elections.

Since the Libertarian Party doesn’t exist at this point (maybe he’ll have a hand in founding TTL’s version of it), Vermin might go for one of the smaller parties that existed at the time, such as the American Independent Party or Peace and Freedom Party. I don’t see him going for the Communist Party, though. Then he’d really stand no chance of winning.

I dunno. To its own pocket dimension, maybe? If Los Angeles were ISOTed to nowhere, then that'd count as a mass-death scenario since the city and its people vanish into nothingness.

I suppose it's to my benefit that I posted it nowhere else, then. Anyways, how about 'Engineers And Technologists Become Robots'? Maybe with comparable likeness to the droids from Star Wars, as opposed to the rather infantile examples from Wall-E or purely hostile killing machines from the Terminator franchise? Heh, maybe military engineers will become real-life battle droids or something to that effect in the process.

Well would that not technically be killing them and replacing them by Droids who have their memories.

The engineers and technologists would just transform into robots with their skills and personalities intact, rather than conscience transference happening or something like that.

The engineers and technologists would just transform into robots with their skills and personalities intact, rather than conscience transference happening or something like that. Well that will be fun for their personal lives if they had them. For some, perhaps. At the very least, however, I think that the constant sounds of creaking gears and whirring motors will take some time to get used to. That also discounts the fact that these newfound robots will need to “eat” in a much different manner than before (i.e. recharging), and probably require a supply of spare parts to swap out worn and torn components with. Hopefully—as engineers and technologists—they’re smart enough to overcome that problem, building and retooling factories so that they can mass-produce the needed machinery sooner than later.

What if all German-speaking Swiss started speaking Dutch and all Dutch-speaking Belgians started speaking German.
