PC: No 1920 Soviet Invasion of Poland, Red Army Focuses on Capturing Western Ukrainian People's Republic Instead?
What would it take for the Red Army leadership to realize that invading Poland would have been a much riskier move and instead had focused on securing much of what was then the Western Ukrainian People's Republic instead? I would have gotten the feeling that an earlier Soviet rule of western Ukraine would have had a longer lasting consequences on the whole of Ukraine (western, central, southern, and eastern) politically and socially. Could this require a major change in Soviet leadership as well?
