Perhaps a Union of South Africa that broke from Britain? Perhaps a more aggressive Ethiopia or Egypt opposed to the West? I think a south Africa who rules a large part of Africa is more likely than a aggressive Ethiopia or Egypt. I can see that, but they'd need the support of European elites in African colonies.

We could have the boers win the Second Boer War, expand by joining the Allied Powers in the Great War and taking over German Africa (German South West Africa), somehow getting control of Portugal colonies of Angola and Mozambique (maybe during the 28 May Revolution of 1926 when they invade under the pretext of what ever they come up with) join the Allies during world war 2 and taking over some part of French Africa and Belgian Congo which will latter result in tensions between them and the United nation lead by the United States resulting in the 36-Hour War of 1948.

Would the 'Draka' have control of the Portuguese colonies by then? It seems like they would be keen on acquiring them.

Was thinking of having the Boer Republic or what ever taking control of Portugal colonies of Angola and Mozambique during the 5 October 1910 revolution but that would mean that Angola would be separated by the rest of the Boer Republic by German South West Africa for four years until they get their hands on German South West Africa and of course if they have control of Mozambique of German South-West Africa.

Yes that could be posabbile, lets say that Boer Republic who has good relations with the Netherlands orders between 1901 to 1910 several ships to establish a navy with.

Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth could easily become large shipyards given the motivation.

With the help of the Netherlands and other countries who want to be friends with the Boer Republic it might.

Not just them maintaining their independence and possibly expelling a lot of the Anglos from their republics but actually somehow conquering most of S Africa and holding it.

Well its only a idea of creating the enemy that could attack the United States during the 36-Hour War of 1948.
