The timeline until the signing of the Treaty of the Thames: (Adapted)
In the year of our Lord 1381, the peasants of England pass by harsh times, the high taxes resulting from the conflict with France, the economic situation caused by the Bubonic Plague and the religious turmoil inside the Kingdom all have contributed to the lowering rates of popularity of Richard II, violent rebellions start spreading all over Essex by February, on May London as burning, the king fleet to West Sussex it is court leaving the east in the hand of the rebels, although the rebellion never had any religious objective Lollardism have start spread it the population, this heresy of the Western Christianity denied any special status to the priesthood and challenged the practice of clerical celibacy. John Ball, a Lollard priest and one of the leaders of the rebellion starts propagating is ideas to the peasant mob, this news haven't been well received by John Wycliffe, theologian and founder of Lollardism, fearing a higher persecution after the rebellion he and his supporters fleet to Castile. This marks a break between the Essexer Lollardism popular it the English peasants and the more organized Wycliffe Lollardism popular it some nobles. By August the last royalist strongholds in Kent have fallen, more people join the rebellion every village they passed, the ones that oppose them end decapitated, armed it sticks, hoes, axes, old swords and longbows they end conquering Sussex on ends of October after the royalist army rebel against their overlords and join the peasants. The King fleet again this time to South Cumbria here he had a major support, a similar rebellion break in based in it the new religious thinking of the Essexer Lollardism, by December Cornwall have fallen in the hands of the rebels. By November the state of anarchy of the lands controlled by the peasants as notable, the fields are abandoned, the granaries empty, there isn't food for supply the army and the man start disbanding. Fearing the end of the rebellion John Ball call for a meeting it Sir Roger Clarendon, bastard son of the Black Prince, Sir Roger decide lead the rebellion against is step-brother Richard II and accept the new religious thinking of the peasants. The new leader son start a new campaign for Leicestershire leaving the south unprotected. While that Richard gathered a royalist army of 5.000 man but great part of the fighting age males support the cause of the rebels. The king leave Cumbria by February of 1382 to London not knowing of the rebel position, the tale says that reaching Leicester Castle the king decide to pass there the night unknowing of the enemy occupation of the castle, during the night 3 peasants enter in his bedchambers, kill him and set fire on the royalist camp, the know is that the king never enter in the castle, 2 peasants of unknown name infiltrate in the siege camp mounted near Leicester and set fire on it, the peasants hidden in the hoods surge persecuting the man try fleeing, during the chaos the king is killed, Sir Roger campaign have been a success and the last royalist positions in the north are now unprotected, Scottish man start crossing the borders regularly in well-planned incursions plundering the royalist villages and violating the young peasants. The barons of the north decide crown John of Gaunt as king, on 6 of March of the Year of our Lord 1382, John II is crown King of England in St Laurence's Church, during the coronation the title of Lord of Ireland is forgotten, that makes John the first King of England that not officially possessed the Lordship of Ireland since 1171. Roger came back to London in 2 April and claims the title of King, the peasants and burgers of London highly contested his claim and the situation is only settled under the Treaty of the Thames, it the established a new government position, the magistrate that shall cooperate with the king in the administration of the nation, this person is elected by a council of low ranking nobles from Greater London for the term 6 years. This new magistrate remain it low power but it the support of the council he can veto any action of the king, also the treaty established and abolished various rank of nobility it the objective of reduce the influence of the nobles of the north and centre in the government. While that the John II try defend the remains of the royalists against the Scottish raids that now become part of everyday live in Northumberland and Cumbria. So what is Roger new role in the new England of the Treaty of the Thames.

I think he's technically the king, at least of the areas under his control, but with strings due to the new constitution, resulting from the Treaty of Thames.

So we have a king that is crowned and a king that is not. I suspect he's been crowned but it does make me wonder what the status of the church is in Lollard controlled lands. Probably a lot of new clergy and prehaps the removal of a lot of church lands, being handed over to ordinary people. [Both hitting at the church establishment, helping a lot of poorer people and boosting the groups popularity.]. With a reformed church, also one in great turmoil, I don't know who would be the new archbishop of Canterbury for instance but your likely to have some cornantion event in London for Roger. Steve

I have been a bit busy but I have managed to get sometime minutes to write a bit more about what our friend John is doing up in the north:
John II use the low importance that the government of London give to him at the time to strength is diplomatic relation it other European rulers, it France and Scotland out of the list and Western Europe engaged in a conflict between the Pope Urban VI in Rome and the Pope Clement VII in Avignon John decide to turn is attentions to the Irish chiefs and lords that prefer support him besides Roger’s proposals to increase the status of the island, he fleet to Ireland in a quest to gather supporters by the middle of March leaving is last possessions in Britain in the hands of his oldest son Henry of Bolingbroke.

Agree its good to see the TL back.

Remember that the army organised for the peasants expedition against the royalist position in the north have been practically disbanded and London itself is vulnerable (excluding the militias that will be formed in case of invasion). But you know how peasants sometimes are... If they really want to stay strong they will stay strong...
