I finally saw The Social Network the other night. I despise Zuckerberg and you were meant to dislike him as a viewer but I felt sorry for him! Which wasn't meant to be the intent of the filmmakers but it was what they got from me.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
This film is trash. Believe me. Two wasted hours of this trash.

Some more films I've seen recently.
Spy - Silly, but full of laughs. Far better than I expected. Life of the Party - Underwhelming and even Melissa McCarthy can't save this. Sicario - Pretty good. Not brilliant and tries a bit too much to be 'deep' yet still worth a watch.

It is okay once you realise it isn't pretending to be serious.

I've been watching the Star Wars movies intermittently with a friend of mine who hadn't seen them yet.
I also watched The Death of Stalin which I quite enjoyed.

I saw The Death of Stalin twice at the cinema and bought it on DVD to so far watch twice as well. Historical inaccuracy there is, but not outrageously so. It is also a 'fun' movie despite the very real horror of what was going on in the background.

I saw Sicario 2 yesterday. It is OK: nothing more, nothing less.

I watched True Grit last night. It was the 2010 Coen Brothers version. Very good film. It was a bit short but that was the only failing. It is a Western and while I am not a fan of those this was highly-rated so I watched it. The story is told from the POV of a 14 year-old girl. She is brave and precocious but she is still a child. The film is believable in that regard as showing her from a strong yet vulnerable position too. I'll watch it again soon when I get the chance to appreciate it better.

Risen (2016 film) It is a religious film, I'll say that at once. The story is told from the POV of a Roman officer in Judea. He appears in a battle and then is given the task of finishing off the execution of Jesus. The man means nothing to him. Events take control as he combats these zealots. That is the first half of the film, the good bit. Then it goes bad with too much religion and shows the real reason why it was made. Still, I watched it to the end. The fight scenes are great. More so is the human story of one man caught up in events and at their mercy. A lot of the big things happen off-camera too so you see him hearing of them and dealing with them too, which I like in a tale.
