What movies have you recently seen? New ones or old ones? The good, the bad and the side-splitting. Interesting scenes. Great casting, excellent directing.
Films which I have personally watched (old and new) in the past few weeks: Mr. Brooks - brilliant The Departed - pretty good The Shape of Water - excellent Pulp Fiction - my fav of all time Isle of Dogs - strange, still not sure if I liked it The Revenant - okay-ish I saw two at the cinema and the rest at home. Upon request, I can supply details. Only for a cookie though.

I watched on Netflix these days both the movie Titan and Annihilation.

End of Evangelion: good, still don't understand what all the Evangelion hype was about though. The Lego Movie: funny Hot Shots: Part Deux: funny.

Just watched Jaws. Made before I was born. The special effects, even now, aren't that bad. The final showdown at the end is pretty quick, faster than I imagined though. Imagine being pulled into a shark's mouth and EATEN like that!?

I would add the few Netflix series I've been watching, but they're all WWII documentaries and honestly, I couldn't feel sadder talking about them.
Totally recommend Hitler's Circle of Evil. Really useful for the stuff I've been writing.

For mindless entertainment yesterday, I watched Mean Girls. Then for something more serious(ish), Jerry Maguire.

I saw A Quiet Place at the cinema yesterday evening. Short film and good-ish but not brilliant. It left me demanding more in terms of answers to all of the questions it posed... one of which was how a little girl is able to do what the world's military & intelligence services failed to do with all combined efforts and figure out that to defeat the aliens it is best to use their strength against them (I am ranting, yes).

Wait is this the movie where humans are not allowed to make any sounds due to be hunted by aliens who go after sound.

Most of the world's population is dead but there are scattered survivors who keep silent. All the aliens can do is hear and without that they are helpless as babies. A little girl figures it all out and defeats them.

These aliens came by a meteor and have no weapons, they just have 'strong' armour to deflect bullets. Oh, what about a 120mm shell from a tank with a depleted uranium warhead? Or a nuke? Or nerve gas? Or a Hellfire from an AH-64 with a thermobaric warhead?

I just watched The Death of Stalin... again. It is brilliant. The finale, with Beria's comeuppance, is amazing.
